Health of Compressed Ore Market

I have been out of the industrial world for a bit and was wondering if the recent changes to Sov ore anomalies has changed the demand for compressed ore?

If long distance hauling to significantly better refining isn't as big, would it be better to replace my compression array with a refinery and return to selling minerals?

I'm not totally sure how to answer that. Maybe elaborate a bit on what you're asking for specifically? Maybe I'm just bad at reading.

Do the math.

Do whatever yields the most: compressed ore, ore, or minerals.

It is pretty simple, and the prices vary by what market you are using.

If you mine far away from where you sell, use compressed to save yourself alot of trips (or use a faster ship for same number of trips)

Your best bet is to make a spreadsheet and do the math yourself. (Besides you did not mention the location where you sell your ore/minerals and what your refining rate is.)

For me the compressed ores took a hit when the changes to null-sec ores came to live. The last time I checked it was pretty much a 50/50 if minerals or compressed ore gave the better value but that was already like 2 weeks ago so I have no idea how it is now.

Also as Haatakan Reppola said the compressed ore is the easiest to transport which can make your logistics that much easier if you're just going to sell your ore instead of making any manufacturing. Easier logistics can be worth more isk than the hit you take in value of ore if you sell it in compressed form instead of minerals (if minerals even are more valuable to begin with).

People still want to buy minerals in whichever format to either sell on for additional profit or to build stuff with.

Prices have dropped quite a lot due to FozzieSov and changes to ore composition in null-sec along with speculation.

There are only two reasons to be selling in the refined minerals format:
1) The minerals have come from reprocessing mission loot etc.
2) Selling minerals to people who do not have the skills to reprocess ore etc.

Compressed ore is the optimum and premium mainly for ease of use and transportation.

If you able to compress you should do so.

If you are selling compressed ore you should obviously be basing the selling price on a Jita market-based price multiplied by the maximum high sec reprocessed mineral value via a high sec reprocessing array. This therefore deals a killing blow to the idea of selling minerals unless for reasons one and two above. Or if for reasons of personal skills, ISK, or being in an NPC corp negate being able to do so.
