I'd prefer a mechanism where the gift auto-redeems when the character logs in. This would be more sensible I think. It was afterall, based on logging in.

With that mechanic a gift could spawn inside your ship, does it have the space or in the middle of 0.0 because you logged because of GF Aggro or Bio. Perhaps in a character all the way in minmatar space in a far flung station, when you are more of a Amarr who spends his time mostly in Tash-Murkon.

The point of the redeem button (its quite clearly marked) is the fact that you can claim your prize on the character you want where you want so you can put yourself out of harms way.

Yes I understand. Nonetheless, it's the first time I've had a gift and had it disappear with what felt like zero warning. I didn't see a countdown timer or notification that it would vanish, and I didn't hear about the timer ingame either.

Gifts do not need to spawn in a ship, just in a hisec station where the character is bound.

This redemption mechanic did put the implant in harm's way. Either way, logging in to play during that period did not secure my implant.

Pixxie is too blond for the fine print lol Cool Lately I specialize in crazy mistakes, so this can go up on my wall with the others. P I better read forums more in future!

No other EvE gift I know of has expired in a week either.

If you'd looked at the item redemption window you would have seen the timer. I know, because that's how I learned of it. I'm known to leave my gifts in there for ages.

15%? I thought it was 1.5%

there are a ton of them for sale by contract. last i checked in Amarr they were as low as $10M to 50M ISK. if you wait a bit longer, or check other regions, probably even cheaper.

this should be the next one i believe

Traits
Slot 4
Boost intelligence by 3
Provides +1.5% CPU bonus
Provides +1.5% capacitor recharge
Implant set bonus: 50%

Development
This is the second half of the Core Augmentation implant set, delivered by Genolution as a follow-up to the CA-1 just months after their first demonstration of new augmentation techniques shook up the often-stagnant industry.

The CA-2 picks up where its predecessor left off, providing a dual boost via frontal lobe enhancements and a neocortical modification that complements the CA-1's focus on a captain´s ship-fitting concerns. The end result is an increase to intelligence, coupled with improved CPU output and capacitor recharge rate. Additionally, when combined the CA-1 and the CA-2 supplement each other, providing vast increases in their overall net effect.

Concurrent with the release of the CA-2, Genolution offered up the implant's schematics for public inspection. They claimed the move was designed not only to allay any lingering fears about the technology - now widespread amongst the capsuleer class - but also to provide a foundation for future advances in the field.

well not really if you claim the 2nd one when it's released (probably around christmas day?)

you figure you get another 1.5% for a total of 3% for the set
then you add in the 50% bonus for having the set to that 3% for a total of 4.5%?

that could help a bit

Having them expire so quickly is utterly idiotic.

ESPECIALLY when no one who knows what they are doing even tries to log in the first day or two after a patch.

There is no reason it couldn't last a month or something.
