Your absolutely right on this. Though for us it is a rather common way to pass on information. Had I heard of anything else being done, my aid would be passed to our own people's relief effort.

More so information should have been made known about our own efforts, since I don't know about anyone else but this thread is the first I've heard about any efforts by anyone really. It is very possible I overlooked it in other places but requests like these shouldn't have to be searched for.

It's not about knowing what's best, not is it about not thinking people can't provide for themselves, it's a simple matter of seeing those in need and acting upon it as quickly as possible. If you want more than that, you're wasting your time.

The IGS is the place for words not bullets, if you wish to taste my weapons fire, try and get yourself with your DED rating into high sec and we'll have a duel. Which in all likelihood you'll win. I'll lose a ship crewed by merc clones and a clone of by own if that makes you feel better I am happy to oblige. I can afford the loss of any ship I fly easily.
