Ghost Site: completely hypothetical question

From my experience when I warp into a Ghost Site cloaked it will not activate the timer. I was wondering: If I'd make a bookmark 5k off the ghost site, leave grid and later warp to that bookmark uncloaked: would that activate the timer? Or would it stay inactive since technically I did not warp to the Ghost Site.

The only reason why I haven't tried it out myself is because I never have a tanky enough ship around when I encounter a Ghost Site.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe it is warping onto the same grid as the ghost site that triggers the timer, not warping to the site to begin with. Any idea if you hit warp then cancel will the timer still start? Would be a way to figure out if it is warping to the site that causes the timer or landing on grid that does.

The timer starts when the first player ship is uncloaked in the site.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Timer is triggered on warp-in. If cloaked, the timer triggers on de-cloak. Essentially, in a cov ops ship, you can warp in and get to a nice central location - preferably within hack range of at least 2 cans. At that point, de-cloak, lock/scan the cans and start your hacks. While I have heard of people with ace hacking skills that can clear 4 cans, I never push the issue - pick the 2 best cans and go.
