ahhh... did not know that...

Though, I'm sure you can just say "no refitting in space"

Yeah, they can say a lot of things. They also said "no set fights", "no alt alliances" and some other stuff. Problem is how to enforce it. You either have to make more tech/tools to monitor ship fittings in realtime (work + buggy) or review logs post-match (work + possible bad publicity for declaring matches void post-fact).

The single ship is just not worth the extra trouble, especially since it won't be able to rep whatsoever - it's too powerful a logistics platform for AT.

As for marauders - I remember a certain tournament with a couple of rusty scrapheaps sitting in the center of the arena (probably busted engines) that were "too predictable to win", "will be easily countered with ECM" and "have no use in the AT meta". There was no Bastion back then.

I find it weird that there are so many ship classes that aren't used often or at all (Blops, SB, transports, almost all T1 BS), yet the only one you care for is the one that was overpowered in the last AT.

Bastion Marauders were really only effectively used, last AT, in a drone fleet comp. With the restrictions to drones, being only t1, it nerfs that by quite a bit.

That said, blops have been used to great effect at times, (SB) assuming stealth bombers? - Have been used to great effect in past ATs, transports are used cause they don't do anything, and many T1 BS hulls have been used. Ravens, domis, geddons, tempests, hypes, megas, are all used fairly often, with gallente hulls leading the way.

Though, I'd like to see more use of (formerly know as) tier 3 hulls.

I might also state that anytime Marauders have been used to great effect, without bastion, is when the enemy fleet consisted of little to no ewar, and/or didn't apply it to the Marauder.

The Meta seems to be different every year.
AT 12 - drones
AT 11 - damps
At 10 - brawl (can't remember)

I know that at least one AT consisted of many bomber fleets, but effective use depended on bomb deployment.
Hell, their point cost was increased because they were so effective.

However, this year the fleet comps will be different, as they're only allowed to bring 2 of each ship, as opposed to 3.
This will effect fleet comps more than anything.

You must know something about Marauders that I don't. I don't see how they can be the same cost as a pirate BS when Bastion is disallowed.

/facepalm

Seriously? Read the bonus for those ships. 8 guns worth of damage for only 4 slots taken up... Leaving high slots free for "utility"

TL;DR everyone else knows .. Hopefully if you read one line up, you will as well.

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

"Tech 1 Support Cruiser"

Am I correct in my assumption that this means the T1 logistic cruisers and not the T1 ewar cruisers?

Yes - Tech 1 Support Cruisers are the Scythe, Exequorer, Osprey, and Augoror.

T1 ewar cruisers are the same as regular cruisers - 6 points each.

In the dev blog title Signing up to Rule Alliance Tournament XIII, did the proper grammar translation get lost? Sign up to compete or win or be the reigning champion until the next tournament.... but rule? What do you rule if your team wins the tourney? Lol. You guys might try using google translate. 'Ok, back in the pool and turn the music back on; da grammar police are gone.'

... I think it was more meant as a hype thing, along the lines of "Sign up to win..." or "Sign up to own faces in..." or something similar. I think their grammar was fine. Rule in this case means less lording over territory or people, but instead being a reigning champion or dominating one's opponents. ;)

Really, though, it's just a bit of an outdated term from what I can tell.

It was actually more a reference to the rules being included in this blog.

More seriously though, we've had questions regarding the Target Spectrum Breaker and Polarized Weapons.

The Target Spectrum Breaker is NOT allowed.
Polarized Weapons are allowed.

Good info to know. Thank you.

Also, @CCP_Logibro, you're a hero for stepping up and taking over for EVE Sports projects. Thank you, and I'm looking for ward to AT13 being the best one yet. >:{D

The nestor would be OP even IF you weren't allowed to refit off of it.

The repping bonus the nestor gets would simply make it too strong a logi, you could easily set up a tinker team with it that was nigh on unbreakable.

I just want to see the damn thing recorded...

I mean... The AT is literally the most anticipated thing I look for every year since AT 7.

If they're not broadcasting half the matches then what's the point?

Watch it on null-sec?
Hell no, that's nothing but a view with no entertainment value. The only people that is good for is competitors and theory crafters.

When you update the points, you should also look at linking to the actual AT page rather than the dev blog. Keeps all the info in the place you would be looking for it in the first place and not as an update to a news item from last month.

The rules state:

"Faction, COSMOS, deadspace and officer modules are NOT allowed."

I'm assuming that applies also to storyline modules, that storyline modules are not allowed.

Please confirm!

Thanks!

GG

Edit: Has since been pointed out to me that COSMOS modules are storyline modules. Oops

Correct... They were only 2 points last year, so I'm assuming the same applies.

While they are in there, let them know there is a typo on http://community.eveonline.com/community/alliance-tournament/

It says four weekends, should say three weekends. :)

Yes, but not all storyline modules are COSMOS, for an example the 50mm Armor Plates that recently got transformed into 100mm Storyline modules.(there are other tiericided modules like this too)

For the purpose of the Alliance Tournament rules, all Storyline meta group modules are treated as the equivalent of COSMOS. If you have questions about specific modules, please either post them here or send in a ticket and we'll let you know.
