Ship self-destructs --> pod self-destructs --> you're back in station!

In addition to the basic social connection systems, trading and skill queues going mobile, I could see PI also being made into a richer minigame through a mobile app.

Since it involves gathering resources and then building different products from those resources, it seems like the ideal target for a city builder type app in a similar style to Clash of Clans, etc.

Playable both by existing subscribers and non-subscribers it could add in a whole range of additional planetary activities like raiding other people's colonies, building defences, etc.

Probably a dumb idea, but I'm not going to claim it's a good one, just something that seemed relevant to PI.

I made a internal post on ccp forums/ confluence about this this csm term. Limited acces too markets and stuff mentioned would add for me. Dont think it will raise subscriptions direclty but its a way too stay with the time.

On the communication part you have unlimited options yourself, i have allaince slack, and skype rooms, forums, facebook pages, endless things u can set up there.

The skillqueu u can set for ages these days so alot is mitigated. Question is if u want resources assigned to enable on all mobiel platforms and keep them updated, or have those resources goto hardcore eve.

I dont have that answer, and have brought it up internally, mixed feelings btw

I'm sure this would increase subscriptions by over 9000%

I'm against it. I want my targets... errr fellow players to have to plant their buttocks firmly at a keyboard when they explode me.
It just loses some of the appeal otherwise.
I'm also a dinosaur who thinks these 'smart phones' and 'mobile devices' are the work of Gruad Greyface and must be purged to keep humanity from becoming terminally boring.
Also, I can see your underpants.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.

Thanks for reply!

Yeah, you would need somebody in CCP to really believe in the potential.

No use wasting resources on a half-baked project that nobody really cares about and that, in the end, could end up being just a worse version of Aura or Slack.

If I were Hilmar, I'd ask some hotshot mobile app consultancy to make me a super-cool demo with tons of functionality and a sleek interface that screams 'come and touch me every moment of your day!', then decide whether to throw some serious money at it or not.

Or maybe he already did just that, and decided not Lol

We'll see, I guess for now I'll stick to forum PVP (as Ralph pointed out) during those long super-boring office meetings and family visits.

Look at it this way.

Today
1. You pop mission runner and his pod
2. He rage quits
3. Cry

EVE mobile
1. You pop mission runner and his pod
2. He rage quits
3. A couple of days later, while he's in the bathroom with nothing better to read he connects to EVE mobile
4. His friends type 'Hey, come back, we miss you!'
5. He wipes his behind, logs in via PC and undocks
6. You pop his ship and pod
7. Big smile

I don't want em to rage quit :(
I want them to seek revenge and come after me.
It's more fun for both of us that way.
Considering how bad I am, revenge is imminently attainable.

Not sure about that - they may already have shot their bolt...*

It has been said that PI shouldn't really have been part of EVE, that it should have been a tablet game or alongside Farmville and so forth. Of course we have no way of knowing if it would have worked on that platforn, nor how much logevity it could have sustained - they may have ended up having to make it part of EVE eventually anyway; but as Farmville in space it would (if nothing else) have broadenned awareness of EVE itself among people who would never have considered it before.

The fact you felt the need to clarify that means that you meant something else entirely.

Guys, it's 2015. Everyone's playing with their mobile phone or tablet many hours a day.

I don't.

It's not just that phones are incredibly tiny and fragile, but they make annoying noises.

I prefer peaceful solitude, punctuated by the soft click of keys on a keyboard.

Go tell them.

I wanted a mail- and forumclient with instant messaging
and lots of other goodies, like sharing the local population when logged in.

Go tell them to "Go with the times!" and see what you get.
It'll be strictly limited to CREST and not even allow people
to actually develop things to increase the full potential of the plattform.

Why in hell should people rely on third parties to exchange documents or files ?
Or to chat ? And no, the webUI is a horrible mess and not adeqate !

Eve is better.

Eve is like an addiction; you can't quit it until it quits you. Also, iderno
