Killed capital: drop from ship hangar?

Not sure if W&T is the right place for my question. But it is about killed ship so let it start.

Just looked at zkillboard and there is dead Nyx in last 7 days. Dropped in total 4 billion ISK from its cargohold, ship and fleet hangars. 5 ships in total.

Now i'm curious: how do people grab such stuff from wreck? One of dropped ships was packaged and fitted Hyperion.

A fitted Hyperion would not be packaged. Packaged denotes a non-activated ship. Fitted ships not destroyed should drop in space and you would be able to board it as you would any ship floating in space.

I believe they added a mechanic so you could either scoop the ships direct with another carrier/ orca/ bowhead/ etc or launch the ship from the wreck and board it manually like anything else

sounds like justification to always fit carrier loot with festival launchers in the high slots

Once opening the wreck (for loot) the ships that were not destroyed will automatically eject into space from the capital ship wreck.
