Here is my collection of basic titles within the Amarr Empire. I used my name as basically a place-holder not being selfish Big smile

Lord Arcashiri (for Holders)
Heir Arcashiri (for the 5 Family Heirs)
Emperor/Empress Arcashiri (self-explanatory Big smile )
Duke Arcashiri (for Dukes which is used to address Holders )
Justice Arcashiri (for Theology Council/Civic Court or other Tribunal Justices)
High Justice Arcashiri (for High Justices within Imperial Tribunals)
Templar Arcashiri (for Amarr Templars)
Sir Arcashiri (for people not quite with a title but still in the Nobility Class)
Governor Arcashiri
Slaver Arcashiri
Custodian Arcashiri

There are also, of course, Military Ranks but this is my basic collection. I will update this post if I find more.

Here are my collection of classes in the Empire as well from the top to the bottom:

Royalty
Nobility
Commoner
Slave

I don't quite know their place in things, but there is also Clergy and Tribunal Classes.

Enjoy, and feel free to comment P

Nice start to an interesting discussion!

It's interesting that you've gone with your character's last name as the placeholder, when in reality I think you may find that the Amarr also make regular use of first/given names in their honorifics.

Most prominently, Amarr emperors style themselves by regnal names (Heideran VII, Doriam II, Jamyl I), which seem (judging by Doriam and Jamyl) to be the same as the given names they used up until their crowning. In reality, going by modern royals on Earth, the Amarr heirs probably each have a ton of names to choose from when they assume the throne.

In the royal families, you'll also commonly see people addressed by their given name or you'd have thousands of "Lord Sarum" and "Duke Kor-Azor". The exception to this may be the Heirs, who are either addressed by their full names (Heir Aritcio Kor-Azor) or by their house (Aritcio, the Heir Kor-Azor).

Smaller holder families with more unique names do seem to prefer being addressed by their family names. It's even possible that there's a social stratification in play here, where people addressed by their first name are assumed to be of nominally greater status because they probably have a prominent family name, and people addressed by their family names are assumed to be of lesser standing. But that's just me bubbling with ideas.

If we're getting into the class system of the empire, it's fairly simple to describe:

Holders
Clergy
Commoners
Slaves

The people who work in the military and judicial systems are a mixture of holders, clergy, and commoners.

The sublime and the ridiculous are often so nearly related, that it is difficult to class them separately. - Thomas Paine

Ah, makes sense. Didn't think of it that way. I'm rather new to Amarr RP, although not so new the EvE or Role-Playing in EvE.

When I first saw that an ISD had commented my first thought was "Oh boy. What did I do wrong? Did it get moved, deleted?" lol.

:)

Well, in the class system there's Royalty, Nobility, Commoners, and Slaves (see here). Heirs are titled royalty, non-heir members of royal families are non-titled royalty. Holders are titled nobility, non-holder members of noble families are non-titled nobility. I also wouldn't consider clergy to be a separate class on its own as religion and secular life is much more interconnected in Amarr. All heirs and holders can be considered clergy for example.

As far as titles go, I did a big post on this a year or two ago.

In regards to your post:

Dukes are not mayors under Holders. Duke is a fairly old school title that is mostly not used in Amarr. When it is used, it refers to a Holder of a particularly high standing, such as a constellation holder or owner of a very prominent world. It is certainly not inferior to holders.

Theology Council has justices (judges) and advocates (lawyers), the Civic Court has judges and barristers (lawyers). The Ministry of Internal Order has Ordinators. The Theology Council also has other occupations within it, such as clerk/principal clerk. The Theology Council also has Deacons and High Deacons; the High Deacon appears to be the highest position in the TC as High Deacon Moritok served as the TC's seat on the Privy Council.

Another important element is Custodians, which are people that have been leased slaves by Holders. See Custodial Servitude Contract. Custodian as a title doesn't appear in PF but it is a logical deduction as a reference to people holding custodial contracts.

Governor has appeared, used in reference to territorial administrators like the governor of the Ammatar Mandate.

Slaver is a title, referencing those with license to handle and sell slaves on behalf of Holders (not all Slavers are Holders or even nobility).

The military has largely traditional ranks (as seen with Vanazir Saracen). Grand Admiral as the top naval officer. However there are also other more unique titles, like Fabricator-General. The ranks seen in the 24th Imperial Crusade however seem limited to the militia and do not typically appear to be used by actual Amarr military.

There is the Chancellor and Chamberlain, of course. Your/His Honor and Your/His Grace has been used in reference to the Chamberlain.

Wanderers are secret missionaries of the Speakers of Truth, essentially infiltrators looking to spread the word of God in dark places. Normal Speakers of Truth are referred to as Brother/Sister (Brother Joshua).

Lord Commodore has been seen used in reference to an officer within a royal house's family guard.
