Evening all,

I have an would like to know your thoughts on my following setup and how I can optimize it.

I have been running NS Combat sites in my main + an alt.

My current setup consist of 2 ships.

1. ISHTAR (Sentry/Heavy Drones)
Tanks 90% of the sites in NS, when I land on grid, I kill frigs > cruiser > battleships etc...

Takes me roughly 15 - 30 min to run a site.

2. ASTERO
Sits on complex gate and scouts anyone entering the plex. Enables me to run the site with 1+ local, without the fear of a cloaky T3 coming in. Also holds all the loot from the plex's.

My NEW setup would be adding a Vexor Navy Issue (2 weeks away from a T2 Ishtar) to help my main in the plex. By assigning drones to him.

Now my question is, is it more efficient to run dual ISHTAR's in a site.

I assume they should 'Half' the time taking to run, thus doubling the ISK reward, but in the end I am doubling the amount of ISK needed to Plex the extra toon.

OR is Spidertanking give me the ability to take on harder plexes?

Ideally in the next few months I have:

ISHTAR T2 Sentry
ISHTAR T2 Sentry
LOKI running Boost's (Cloak LOKI up if local spikes, local empties, I go back to boosting.

Or am I better off running dual Domi's. But then I am a sitting duck moving between systems and I have a huge sig.

There is a common misconception regarding multiple accounts

Once you hit the mark for Plexes needed to fuel accounts, the number of accounts you need to perform the activity and/or efficiency in activity no longer applies.

I.e. Lets assume you have peak efficiency running ishtars in your sites.
That means we are ignoring the law of diminishing return and you need not worry about the fact that just by adding an extra X dps in the form of another ship, that it does not necessarily mean you double your clear time.

So. 700DPS isktar (+/- skills fits and so on) and you get say....400mil per generic time frame, and you get this number consistently as average.

2x 700DPS isktar (+/- again) and lets say, it equates to a double to 800mil per generic time frame.

Now to compare, Scenario 1 is, 2 time frames to get 1 plex, so you could keep up the activity (not including scout alt)
Scenario 2 is still, 2 time frames to get plex required to fuel both accounts.

Now, the important part is after. After you have fueled both accounts, and unless the timeframe is literally 1 month, then any excess "time frames" you have after, equates to a literal double in the ISK going into your wallet.
Since:
As it is your alt, it does not have greed or need, other than the isk required to refuel itself at the end of every month.

Now you asked, about running two ISHTARS, yet you mentioned the need for doubling the amount of isk you need to plex each toon....next you mentioned spider tanking so i'm assumingn the generic question to be "worth running two toons"

Answer is yes, specifically for the ishtar, more so as you can either A, run RR setups, (yet you can do that with the domi) and B faster clear time to get more isk

You really need to figure out what you want to ask, since it seems like you want to ask everything.

TL:DR worth extra toon, if its worth the extra clicks to you
Spidertanking can be achieved with domis, domis are better at it, but slower

If you are blue to the locals then 2 ishtars are great. But two spider tanking Domis are even better. with the MJD you can clear 10/10s with ease once you are used to them

As im a solo player with no blues i use two Sins instead plus a scanner ship.

Ishtars are excellent choices for null site running. Good DPS, reasonably priced (to offset eventual losses) and relatively quick to train into and fit properly. They are also reasonably agile/quick such that your allign and warp-out times are what you want them to be.

Domi's are a bad idea. T3's are certainly good since they are 1-stop-shops capable of doing everything you want in a single hull, but they struggle to reach the DPS levels that the Ishtar does, meaning your clear times are longer.

Here's some advice from a player that once solo'd (1 ship) as a non-blue null site runner:

1. Scout your regions. Identify the corp/alliance that owns the area, research them. Check out their killboard - you're looking for kills on neutral ships that appear fitted for exploration (i.e. probes, cov ops, exploration modules).
2. Continue scouting to identify their peak play times. Sit in a few of their systems, cloaked up with D-scan running. See if they assemble small gangs to hunt you. See if they launch combat probes. This will go a long way toward determining whether the area of space is relatively safe to poach in.
3. Pick a region where your ship is well suited to fighting that particular kind of rat. With things like ammo being limited to what you can carry, make sure that you're fitted to kill efficiently and withstand the expected damage.
4. Finally, see what's spawning up in the area. This can be trial and error as you have to test the area over time. I found that certain regions seemed to spawn higher rated sites more frequently than others - making the trips worth the trouble. Conversely, I found that many other regions tended to spawn anoms that ended up being 3- or 4-part escalations requiring travel between many systems and no real payoff until the end of the series.

Hope this helped.

It is always more efficient to run 2 ishtars.... but if you are running 1 ishtar 1 vexor navy fit the VNI for damage 3-4 DDA and have him sit on the gate and assign drones to the ishtar
