Gray Play button, not downloading anything.

896719, the current live TQ version, contains the fix that was being tested in the sisi versions listed in this thread. All people who had success with launcher 844420 should allow their launcher to update to this version.

If 896719 does not fix your issue, please get in contact with the GM's and forward them your launcher logs so we can examine your issue.

I have done literally everything up to and including uninstalling and reinstalling, and still have the same issues as before. My only other recourse to just simply uninstall and close my account due to the unreasonable issues we been having for a month if not longer. And also to the no responses from CCP as to why they're just ignoring the problem(s).

I had the same problem, I fixed it by going directly to the eve.exe file in my CCP/Eve folder and launched it through there.

I don't have a clue why the worked (or if it was just chance) but that's what worked for me.

I've just come back to this game after a three month break, to find out it's even more broken than before!

Ok, last night I logged in AFTER manually downloading and updating the client, what the problem is; the Resource Cache which was introduced awhile back is the issue, thus preventing the client to update properly. As far as I can tell it is NOT communicating between client and server to update the cache what so ever.

This holds true from the time I click on my desktop icon to start up the game.

CCP IS THIS SO HARD?

CCP, there are off buttons for ship explosions, missile effects, turret effects, etc. "Immersion" does not seem to be harmed by those. So, [u]please[/u] give us a persisting off button for the jump gate and autoscan visuals.

All of a sudden a box popped up, and it downloaded something, next thing the launcher was working again.

Now it Greyed out play button again and its only been 3 days, and the is no I am reinstalling eve again.

I get feed up with this CCP, Do you want to keep your customers or what.

Thus is driving me mad!!!!!!!!!!!!

This morning I started the launcher and went away for 30 minutes while the update took place. However thing did not work out.

After 30 minutes, I had the same problem as described above. Greyed out PLAY button and progress bar stuck at 0% and not going anywhere.

I then switched the language to French and immediately got the EULA (or some legal nonesense) dialog. I accepted and the PLAY button became blue and the progress bar was already at 100%. All good to go. This seems to indicate the update did actually took place and it was just a refresh issue on the launcher's part. I then moved the language to English and got the same legal dialog again (really CCP?). Play button was still blue and ready to go and progress bar was at 100%.

patch won't load, stucks at 0.0%. Yeah sometimes it does a short load, maybe to 10% but it falls back to 0 very fast.

also I have this issue with the out-greyed play button, when I get this far.
sometimes the launcher just shows half of its content and freezes.
many times I need to force quit now.
Reinstall doesn't fix it for me.
only thing help is to delete the Eve Online folder in $user/Library'Application Support - helped until I played with each of my accounts once. Again, tried all hints, back&forwards in every language, delete/reinstall. Nope. I deleted that folder again. Works.
Probably it's just one file in there ****** up. Could keep p_drive(my settings), but after a run the launcher again won't load patch.
So far I guess it's not my job to find what's wrong with the new patch, aight.

I count on you boys and girls from CCP !

What works for me when the launcher borks out is pressing right click on the right side and click back and forward until it works.
Don't know if this fixes the issue for other people though.

Memo!: Sometimes you have to keep the mouse cursor over the Launch window for Anything to update, recheck, etc. So if the language switch does help you, keep that pointer very close or it just might have you waiting multiple minutes anyways...



This worked instantly for me.. Kudos

If that does.nt workh go to settings and repair launcher, it will close launcher download stuff and when you open the launcher it will start updating. Works for me.
