I do highsec anoms every now and then in a destroyer. I kill it salvage it and occasionally get an escalation to do. my issue is I constantly have cynabals, gilas and even freaking tengus. They fit for quicklock and multi instapop. They get a few highsec rat frigate kills in isk and don't loot the drops. I get a destroyer and I can barely target them let alone shoot the things before they are all popped and on to the next wave.

lets just say it's getting very irritational and I would like to blow them up. My first reaction would be a blaster talos just sitting there waiting for one to warp in, but would that be enough to kill any of them, it works on exhumers but does it work on faction cruisers? I can guess their mids would be locking and lows damage but I have no actual idea what EHP I would be firing at.

Any help?

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

Nice to see you getting into the game Hal. Twisted

If they are blitzing the sites, they are probably somewhat squishy. (Very little tank and/or a huge resist hole)

If it's always the same guys I would get in a cruiser and fit the mids with a passive targeter and ship scanner, fit some guns and tank to pretend like you are doing the site and use ship scanner to figure out their fits.

Once you have a rough Idea of the EHP you can calculate what it will take to kill them in the amount of time before Concord gets there.

If they are in a corp there is also the option of declaring war.

ah okay i'll probably have to scan a few. It's not the first time i've gotten devious but i'm still pretty new to it. Declaring war isn't an option for me and I don't have the isk to hire merc corps and hope they stop by a trade hub. I'm thinking they would likely just drop corp if they aren't already NPC corp members.

Ganking I think is the best option. Worst scenario I just get a couple people together.

Also, welcome, and kudos for posting with your main.

How many skillpoints do you have? If you are skilled enough to fit your dessy with T2 guns, the upgrade to a talos is not required. Your destroyer should be more than enough, especially if they are fit for damage and sebo.

The cynabal isnt very tanky, it excels at speed and keeping range.

The gila can be quite tanky, comparable to battleship EHP if fit correctly, but as you stated, thats not likely for what they are doing.

My advice would be either a blaster fit caty, a rail fit thorax, or a vexxor. All are cheap and will EASILY outweigh the loss of those faction cruisers youll be blapping.

You have taken your first steps into real EVE. Welcome to the life.

Edit: if you manage to farm some tears out of them and post the chat logs in the pirate story thread, ill pay for your losses.

Ah i've been around for a while, i'm a carebear mostly so there's that.

I procrastinate a lot and don't always have the time to throw into eve. This will be one of my goals though as these guys probably aren't going anywhere. Hell I have a catalyst with polarized blasters I fit for structure bashing I that might just get some other use due to CCP's future structure plan. I don't have small blaster implants and small blasters spec is level 4 so it only really reaches 863 heated dps but that is still sizeable.

They are doing refuges likely for the 5/10 escelations. I can't do a lot in the market and I always get my ass handed to me in pvp, but at least I can mess with some of the people minmaxing the EVE I play.

800 DPS is definitely enough to bring them down fast. If you get a good warp in, web them down, and track well, you wont have any problems with either of them, depending on the security rating of the system of course.

Edit: You call yourself a carebear, but you have just demonstrated the only real difference between a carebear and not-a-bear. You are willing to take risks and blow up spaceships to further your goals. I wish you luck with your task.

If you wish to gank these people the security level of the system will be a major factor. Realistically, most faction and advanced cruisers even flown by terrible pilots are going to be difficult to solo gank. If you go that route you're going to have to stalk a specific target until you can determine his fit's EHP and the feasibility of a gank. A 0.5 system would be the best place to ambush him.

I would say you could try suspect baiting them in some sort of surprise fit, but frankly even a badly fit Gila is a nightmare to face. 500+ DPS med drones are brutal. The highsec anom blitzers also seem extremely risk averse. Ship scanning them is worthwhile; if their fit is shiny enough you may be able to enlist help. There are people, many of which frequent this forum, who would be okay with trading a couple of catalysts for a billion+ ISK faction cruiser. I would forget about ganking a Gila though if he has any buffer at all.

I have been popping mission runners as of late. If you contact me in game I will make available any and all of my resources to help you with this issue.

Edit: The responses you've been given thus far are from reputable players. Either of them should also suffice but my offer stands. I can help you skill towards max DPS, give you tips on concord manipulation, fits etc...

Yeah they are risk averse. Going yellow likely won't work, that usually scares people away unfortunately.

I thank you for your offers of assistance and advice. If you get antsy enough go for it. Refuges. I notice these guys in minmatar space near hek. Angel refuges. They don't look too often to do other sites.

I recommend against associating w/ anyone in the CODE organization. They are deep immersion role players. You have to buy into literally tons of role playing garbage or your dealings with them will end badly. There are better options.

Leto is a good source of information just don't loan him anything. He won't pay you back. He still owes me a thanatos carrier (it's a long sad story).

Linking the names of the offending faction cruiser pilots would be helpful to gauge a proper response and as already brought up the system or at least the security level of the system the gank will happen in is a big piece of this puzzle.

We'll get you through this!

Just make sure to contact a couple of people, in case there are different options/ideas presented that are more suited to what you are comfortable with... and don't give up at the first sign of a problem!

We are all playing a role. I hope some of the stuff you write is not really what you think. If it is, that's pretty sad. But if you are not serious about what you write, then you too are playing a role. Immersion is relative and very subject to perception.

You did not call us Role Players, you called us Deep Immersion Role Players.
If a member of CODE. decides to do some "role playing" then that is up to him or her. It is certainly not required, and normally wouldn't play a role when talking about game mechanics and stuff like that.

Nothing is wrong with roleplay. I've logged in to a space game and role played an eternal space pilot almost every day for almost 10 years. It's pretty awesome!

I'm talking specifically about CODE. They have that double nutty extra deep true believer thing going. Put an alt in their group and prepare to be awed. They live and breath all that stuff they put out. It's kind of scary on one or two levels. If a totally new to eve player subbed up and immediately joined CODE it would take that poor little bugger about 2 years just to get through all the litterature (spelled correctly) they have generated. The volume and depth it just wow.

WH space has the BOB thing going - which is pretty wierd for several reasons, so it's not like the cheese stands alone here.

I'm just trying to warn a 'new to the dark side of eve' player to not get stuck in that quagmire. I'm a free will kind of gal. I just recommended agains associating with them. Then I recommended trusting in Theto's words (not his morals - he steals carriers). I gave a short basis for each of my recommendations. I'm just trying to help the guy.

CODE has a invite only room on their comms where they make select members repeat key phrases from one of their manifestos. (this is where my CODE alt stopped the bus and got off). Fareaky

Wow. That is the strangest thing I have ever heard.
We do not have an invite only room on our comms where we make selected members repeat key phrases from any manifesto.
