And the bar at the bottom not filling up. Everything gray.
Not every time, don't know what's causing it though. just happens at random.

The launcher checks all the client files, typically the first time you start the game each day.

That's the gray bar at the bottom. Unfortunately, CCP didn't quite program it right, as it just sits at 0 until it's done checking, then jumps to 100% (the launcher should know the number of files it has to check, and give a true progress bar). In any case, sometimes it takes a long time because it actually checks, and sometimes it's very fast because it goes "oh I checked this already, it's all good, let's proceed."

Doesn't really give any sort of progress, or show the files it's checking or has to check. And does it take long? I leave it for some number of minutes and it stays the same.
