Intergalactic Summit

What exactly was there response? I've been out of touch for a couple of weeks planetside and barely caught the news on this. As far as I'm aware they didn't destroy the station but rather disrupted the transmission of the details. If you look at it from there side would you want someone poking around one of your corpses and broadcasting the details?

Don't get me wrong, I fear this may be a precursor to an invasion but I would still advise preparing a defence rather than an attack. There is a chance that the Drifters are preparing to hit someone or something else that would better serve us to assist them rather than oppose them.

Farsaidh; the Drifters shut down a broadcast that the DED was organizing for a Drifter autopsy, but then milled about aimlessly before being destroyed by Capsuleers.

The issue here, of course, is that this Drifter fleet was discovered by Tukoss before the messages posted to the Intergalactic Summit, which means the Drifters had been amassing as early as YC116.10.24. What's more, this may even suggest who had captured him: the Drifters.

Ms. Jenneth; honestly, this might explain the unknown forces 'smashing and grabbing' from Sleeper caches, as well.

Honestly, Farsaidh, I believe they may have tried to communicate with us. It's increasingly likely that the Drifters were the ones who posed as Tukoss for the purpose of gathering Jove DNA samples. Consider that the first two messages appeared to have come from an AI, and seemed-- almost charmingly naive in its deception.

Considering how advanced they seem in terms of implants technology and ship hulls/equipment I do think they could have acquired such materials (and capsuleer corpses if need be) quite easily. I can't help thinking that there is more going on here. That could of course be pod induced paranoia but I'd rather act defensively rather than make assumptions with disastrous consequences.

This is greatly disturbing.

The drifters have slowly been scanning our ships, stations and defenses. They have shown considerable offensive power and now we learn that they have amassed a sizable fleet.

All this happens while CONCORD, the DED and the four empires not only do nothing, but actively seek to conceal this information from us for as long as possible instead of rallying the cluster to prepare a united defense. I am beginning to wonder if the higher organizations have been infiltrated by some means, or are simply devoid of thought altogether.

This needs to stop. It is obvious that capsuleers will need to be the ones to take the initiative here and ensure our survival. This is not something we can ignore any longer.

Healthier than whisky, I suppose.

Having had first hand encounters with Drifter vessels before, and experiencing their "Doomsday" as well, if an invasion is indeed their plan, we need ways to level the playing field yesterday . The amount of vessels present could easily destroy a capsuleer capital fleet, even if they were to be destroyed afterwards, our losses would be enormous. Tukoss also said something about going through a wormhole. I suggest monitoring the areas that the Drifters have been seen "leaving" from, and taking logs of when they appear and leave. War could very well be brewing gentlemen. I suggest we prepare accordingly.
