You can even use market to earn ISK.

If you want his ship blown up, the best thing to do would be to just figure out what his character name is, what system he normally mines in, and go post this story in Crime and Punishment forum and ask for someone to contact you for the details of the target name and system.

I'm sure you'll find someone in there who would gleefully gank a miner for free, especially for a lady (misplaced sense of Eve-gallantry).

Why do women so frequently want to "teach their man a lesson"? or try and show him how wrong he is? Why can't the guy like what he likes? Why do you need to show him he is "wrong"?

thanks for the isk, it toke me a few minutes before knowing how space wallet works. and fyi I got killed in a mission for the first time. norm for newbie? I guess so.

As for the professions/jobs/ways of making money... look at real life for some parallels. If you can offer something that someone else wants (in the context of the game) then you can earn money doing it.
Alternatively... if another player has something (i.e. money) you want and you have bigger guns than he/she does... take it from that player. By force or threat of it if necessary (yes, this is legal in the game).

And yeeeeaahhh... you have just stepped into the dystopian Wild West of MMOs.

so basically space robbery is a thing and is legal in game right? interesting.

"HONEEEEYYYY! I thought I told you to do __________!"

Just remember to alt tab out of EVE when he walks by you and your computer.

Welcome to EVE.

We have three policies regarding newbies here:
- give all the advice you can freely. You want that newbie to adopt the "EVE Mentality" and stay

- wait until they become nice and ripe before you "puck them."

- if the newbie is in a place where he/she should not be... or doing something he/she should not be doing... all bets are off. Twisted

Charlotte Momaki wrote:

Oh honey... you have no idea. Twisted

Band of Brothers disbanded by traitor Director: Goonswarm (a horde of people coming from the Somethingawful.com forums) gets a disillusioned Director of the largest and most powerful alliance in the game to disband his own alliance and all their claims in space... then bring him into their fold.

EVE Intergalactic Bank: a guy sets up an honest-to-god in-game bank... with all the bells and whistles and employees. A year later he fulfills every bank manager's dream and leaves with the vault while giving everyone the finger.

No one really gained anything out of this one... but it's funny...
Socratic's Fall: guy named Socratic really, really pisses people off by running his mouth while displaying almost no tactical common sense. Some guy gets fed up and sets Socratic up to involuntarily nuke several "innocents" and effectively limit his own ability to operate in some parts of the game.

Also technically not a scam...
Hulkageddon: basically there was a contest to see who could blow up the most mining ships in the game. The real deviousness of this came what was happening behind the scenes.
Many of the people who funded the rewards were the same people who MAKE the mining barges or have stockpiles asteroids. They literally engineered chaos and destruction to make a profit.

In all these instances:
- no one was reimbursed
- nothing was returned
- the player(s) who committed these acts were not banned
- Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

And then there is this helpful guide:

Today's (May 7th) o7 show had a short bit on hunters of super-capital, the largest and most expensive ships in EVE.

Noteworthy is how one titan slayer met the titan owner in real-life. No hard feelings. [Actually slayer was thanked for removing the burden of an undockable titan "coffin".]

EVE is full of the nicest people, whom will go to great lengths to help others, or stab them in the virtual back, or punch them in the virtual face, and possibly all of these. At the end of the day though, it is just a game that shouldn't be taken seriously, and rather just enjoy the roller-coaster ride.

EVE is more about the people, the "meta game" as it is often called, than spaceships. EVE would be a very boring place without player hijinks.

It is important to have the right attitude for EVE.

This is not a correction as you are fully correct just a clarification in case the OP does not fully understand.

Meta game is essentially any time that you are contemplating what your opponent is thinking that you are thinking especially when you are doing things to intentionally affect his / her attempts to get into your head.

been shooting more red crosses in missions, I think the payout is bad? coz I have brought a "gank catalyst" to try fitting out, and it costs me at least 2-3 hours of missions reward. provided the ganking ship will always explode, that means I will have to do missions all day to pay for a few ships which last maybe 5 mins?
this game is so different with others, more like rl, I have to work and make some bucks to pay for the pleasure I enjoy. now I am a bit worried about my bf, since he really seems to mine for nothing. gonna check his skill queue later tonight and make a wild guess. O yeah, I read about API keys and surely have access to his PC Pirate still struggling with which skill affects what thru

missions dont really pay out too well anyway unless they are lvl 4's and the isk payouts aint too great either, the lp (loyalty points) is where you will make your money. the theory behind your ganking ship exploding is, you only shoot what is worth shooting, evaluate the cost of your ship to what the target has fitted then take 50% for loot fairy tax (50% is usually what will drop when you kill it).

once you get a bit more into you can join a player corp and you can make more money by doing other things (ded sites, anomolies, gatecamping, faction warfare etc)

i endorse this service so sent you some isk to get started also Pirate (probably code alt but who cares)

Calm down miner. As you pointed out, people think they can get away with stuff they would not in rl... Like for example illegal mining... - Ima Wreckyou*

thanks for the help everything will start to make more sense from time to time, I guess

currently my goal is still the same, after some advise I understands a week old newbie won't do sh1t alone, and already have wrong skill in training, lol. trying to understand orbit or crash without actually trying isn't really working I guess, but I don't wanna burn too much iskies too soon, or might end up mining like by bf did. heh, a bugs life.

well mining is the lowest end income tbh, try faction warfare, it will give you needed experience on how to fly a spaceship and you will make plenty of isk, last thing you want to do is train up mining then realise you just wasted your time because you hate it and now your pvp char has useless mining skills that wont ever be used once you find more lucrative income sources.

bear with it though being young is hard and when you finally get to grips with the game it will be much easier and isk wont be much of a concern.

you are probably still very low sp so you should be looking to joining a player pvp corp once you get a foothold in eve, (i left highsec for faction warfare at 900k sp) dont know if corps will take you with any lower sp than that. a good player corp will help you out with learning

what do you mean your skill que is wrong? you should follow what ZAKURELL0 LINDA posted on page 1, its pretty relevant
