Keep seeing these stuff posted on eve raleted news services. And wonder if it's still worth of public attention?

One group lost super to another due to stupidity or perfect trap, so what? Dozen of Freighters and JF's are poping daily not a single word about it.

Or is that just a value factor?

value factor, the "effort" needed to kill a super, and the fact that the NS power blocks need to feel like they have super special toys to justify the ISK/cash spent on keeping a toon just to sit in a thing that almost never sees actual use.

Features that were written into killboards back when it was cool, continues to operate. Not quite passé enough to remove.

Anecdotal and hearsay almost excursively I have to admit. But you rarely hear about a super/titan going down unless it is either is moving POSes or being sold since from what I understand most NS groups would have a fit if a super/titan pilot used the ship for anything other than specific joint ops or bridges (in the case of the titan)

Correct, becase solo super carriers and titans are massive loot and km pinjatas that can be surprisingly easily killed (Darwinism). That is why they usually go in packs and if you do the smart thing and have a support fleet with it/them, they do lots of damage to enemies and their assets.

Edit: You can't say stuff like "Anecdotal and hearsay almost excursively I have to admit"in GD. Are you trying to break the forums?

First, I generally live in Highsec, so I'm a carebear.. most of the time anyway.

But with that said, the effort and cordination to kill a Freighter in Highsec is slightly above being able to button your own shirt. You sit at a bottleneck and Wait, then press F1 with a dozen other people who can also button their *****.
It's really nothing special, unless the person flying the Freighter is another level of stupid, then you see an ALOD about a freighter worth more than many large Null battles :p

Killing a Super is a whole other thing. *most* are in Corps and Alliances, they don't just fly around randomly, and they often have support. Catching one when he/she doesn't takes skill, and often a lot of time. Killing one when he does, takes manpower and coordination.

That's not to say all Super kills are that special, and that all Freighter ganks are lame, but generally speaking, there's whole other levels of skill between the two.

Also, Supers, while not as rare as CCP would like, are a hell of a lot more rare than people flying untanked freighters though Highsec bottlenecks.

Well apart from #rekkingcrew and similar groups there still enough cases - "did he say jump"? And right after a waterfall of rage coming in - "jump and bridge are two different word u stupid more on..."

Impressive, 9 sc's killed for the last 5 days. It's like two ships per day. Shocked

I'm surprised it's not clear... They are extremely expensive, and take effort to kill (you have to trap it before killing it basically).

Been around since the beginning.

What I find interesting is the announcements for Fuzzy SOV and then the mass burning of Supers. It is almost as though they are being used up before they are useless, with wild abandon.

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

20-30b for motherships is not extreme.

Titans, i'd say yes. But can't see much of AT ships lost. These are extreme expensive and even more useless.

Don't get me started on how idiotic it is that they're doing sov before supercapital rebalance, instead of, you know, doing them at the same time.

It's not this. Several of the dead supers (most?) are members of groups like Nulli that are in the midst of getting hazed out of their Sov. Lots of groups right now are in the middle of moving or being forcibly evicted, that puts every super they own in pretty extreme danger.

And you guys especially #rekkingcrew actively using this to hunt them down.

When the economy collapsed (thanks George) we had a spate of yacht fires just out of reach of the fire department's fire boats. It was sad really. Have a huge party. Ferry everyone back in powerboats. Someone happens to knock over a candle on that linen tablecloth - poof! "Guess we'll have to call the insurance agent!" Sad

Rich people can be so naughty.

There just isn't anything that can be said!

Yeah it's mostly superficial bullcrap that only affects a tiny minority of people ...
... yet it's being blown up in news, because of all the loud, small minds who only look at ISK.

Most do not actually care, because it doesn't affect them.

That ringing in your ears you're experiencing right now is the last gasping breathe of a dying inner ear as it got thoroughly PULVERISED by the point roaring over your head at supersonic speeds. - Tippia
