... Yes but it is dangerous.

Do people do it.... Yes.

Is it possible, sure.

Would you be sane to do it... It depends.

If you have the backing of a corporation and they have consistent pilots, you yourself can play casually as long as you are not a integral part of their gameplay or plans (because you have rl stuff, kids, whatever). If you are in a leadership position, being casual cannot really happen (as you are one of the content generators for the game).

Casual, yes. Casual leader.. No.

Casual in a wormhole, dangerous.

It happens though, you just limit yourself a bit to what you can do as just setting your hole up takes alot of time.

Yaay!!!!

+you are always close to jita
+you can jew in nearby holes/private jew hole. or just buy plex for isk if you want to be ultra casual about it.
+you get a station
+if you want fleets there are a lot of kool kidz with youtubez channelz that take out fleets to whoever wants to go.

Just find yourself a empty c2 with nullsec and c5 static. Setup a small tower. And ninja gas once a month to pay for fuel

Thera would be best bet. Together with a potent farmhole, very decent.

I'm pretty sure last time I ran into Blue Fire, that's exactly what they were doing, except with a fleet of 8 domis, 4 marauders and 15 faction large towers.

Sure, it's quite easy. Just be aware that theoretically, your whole pos and all stuff in it could be gone after you come back from that long weekend trip, because someone RF'd everything right after you left and mopped up before you came back.

I did that to another solo wh dweller and the same could happen to me. But in general it's quite unlikely, especially if you inhabit a system that is not interesting for larger groups. 99% of solo or very-small-scale corps are too timid to even try take someone else's system by force.

For just getting connections, Thera is the way to go. WH space has no clone jumps, no safe storage, regular fuel costs, and requires at least one scanning alt in same player corp. Sounds incompatible to casual play IMO.

I'm my own NPC alt.

There have been such a large number of quality of life improvements that I think it's almost possible. I think you still have to be diligent and roll if you don't get a worthwhile null. And rolling is not fun right now.

Just no one could be bothered to kill your dickstar without moving in and bulding a dread first.

There were some threads/blogs about living in a WH using an Orca as a base a few years ago. Is that still a thing or was there a patch that made it less feasible?

What is casual play? Yes it's possible, because you can do -anything- in EVE if you have a good plan.

Login, Kill stuff, Logout <- my definition of casual play

The more I think about it the less I think its possible because scanning will eat up a lot of play time. Even with a max skilled character it takes 5 mins per hole. Its faster and safer to scan longer chain looking for pew then it is to try and roll a static null solo.

You could fly a D3 and logoff in wh. Scan/pew as you go. Set clone to a trade hub and use cheap/no implants. If you die just pod yourself buy a new ship and get back into wspace. Fund yourself with plex. This method will lock you into flying a D3 tho. An argument could be made to use a T3 instead but those are much more expensive and much more gimped with scanning sub. Not to mention the other many issues with flying T3. I want to avoid grinding as much as possible and you can easily fund yourself for a month or more with a single plex with current cost of D3. Even accounting for multiple losses.

Roaming space in a D3 is only viable option. Will cost you $30 a month (1 plex and account sub) and would be extremly limiting.

I love Eve but I've gotten to the bitter vet status of 'I can't be ******' for most of the things in Eve. Just trying to figure out a way I can continue to enjoy playing Eve more then I enjoy reading ship toasts.

It's still done. A group planned on doing a safari into a empty c6 just to farm it out in total for about a week.

No pos. just a set time for the group to login, kill all holes, wipe out the sites, log off.

Purpose was to collect enough ISk to buy a Titan pilot (for hot drop heaven stuff).

It's done still, just on a very small scale (d3 destroyers living in frig holes, anchoring cans in deep space and running the sites.

Yes you can do it solo. Yes you can live in there. It's very small scale but doable.

Yaay!!!!
