Radio chatter sounds at gates... how to turn it OFF

Just returned to EVE after 5 years and when jumping and getting near a gate there is this annoying radio chatter that you can not seem to turn off. Why? this is so very annoying.

Any work around or a way to turn off just this one annoying sound? I fiddled around a bit but no luck to turn this off.

Please help.

Guy obviously autopilots with his game minimized.

Go into options, there are sliders for how loud you want any individual type of sound whilst the game is minimized. Yes CCP cares. I for one are glad they do.


If minimized isn't the case, just turn the sound off. Sound is completely preference from person to person, some would hate eve without sound and sound is important to videogame quality, others don't even care about sound. They just want their kill board on unofficial EVE sites to be whatever amount greener your ship will make it.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

Guy obviously has no clue. I do not minimize while playing this game. Only solution seems to be to zoom out when near a gate. Thank you for the response.

Thank you for showing me your settings for sound. It helped a bunch. I decided to just zoom out for now for the gate sounds.

iirc it's the "Station exterior" slider.

Oh that was just a pic from the devblog, not mine, I mostly stay zoomed out so I've never actually noticed the sound you speak of.

I'm not sure which one changes the sound you are speaking of but if I had to guess it would be the one labeled Jump Gates or Atmosphere

Also, confirming Hal usually has no clue.

muting 'UI interaction' fixed most annoying sounds for me (while undocking and jumping)

People are going to try to ruin your day. Get together with others, ruin their day back -  EvE

It ended up being "Atmosphere" move that slider to the left (turns down) and that mumbled annoying chatter at jump gates goes away. Not sure what else it mutes but will find out eventually.
