Issues, Workarounds & Localization

Ever since the Launcher was first introduced, I've had numerous little niggling problems and on other occasions huge issues, much like my fellow pilots are expressing in other threads. I'm creating this thread as a single place where we can constructively point out the flaws and problems which will lead to CCP improving this very annoying piece of software for the game.

Since the last two updates for the Launcher, a small problem has become a titanic annoyance.

I'll explain by starting with a question for the Team in charge of this thing.

Why, on this earth, does the Launcher have to first load the fancy background image all the way to the bottom, before it will DO ANYTHING!? Is there some magical code you've programmed into that image that the Launcher wants before it will start to do a resource cache check, download an update, etc.?

Sometimes my Launcher will load that background halfway and stop, while all the other UI elements have been already loaded (Username, Password etc), and promptly become 'Not Responding'. I will click the 'X' to go quit, and it will white out and 'Windows is checking for a solution to the problem'....

Sometimes I can also just close the launcher properly, and try again.

But since the last update, I will generally need to open and close the Launcher four to six times before it will load the fancy artwork all the way to bottom, and tell me my 'Client is Ready'.

Seriously... what is going on with this thing? I've never had so many issues with an MMO's Launcher as I've had with EVE's.
