If there is a funeral, you can bet that I will be there.

And I and my family offer any help needed to set up the Funeral, and to the Sarains.

Me and Arkon had issues originally, but we worked them out. He was an honourable man. The most honourable man I knew.

You will be missed Arkon.

After careful deliberation and in light of recent events, the administration of the Pahkshi Peace Conference makes the following announcements:

Administration Changes

  • Administrative Officer Utari Onzo will now be assuming the position of Chair of the Pahkshi Peace Conference.
  • Administrative Officer Utari Onzo will now be assuming the position of Chief Administrator of the Pahkshi Peace Conference.

Regarding Delegates Commander Diana Kim and Repracor Industries
It is with a measure of disappointment that the administration of the Pahkshi Peace Conference has come to the following decision regarding the ongoing conflict and friction between these two delegates:

In the interests of progress, we feel it is best that both parties be irrevocably dismissed the conference. This is not a moral or ethical judgment regarding who is right or who is wrong but a decision made in the interests of seeing the conference move forward. At this juncture, the continuing friction between these two parties has turned a conference regarding peace into a conference regarding their interpersonal conflict.

This decision will not be discussed publicly beyond this statement. If either party wishes file a complaint or dissenting opinion, the administration will accept and consider them but this decision will not be reversed.

We apologize to both the involved parties and to the remaining delegates for the dilemma and the fallout caused by this ongoing conflict within the conference and encourage the remaining delegates to continue participation. Peace is a difficult goal to obtain and obstacles such as these must be overcome in order to pursue it.

In light of recent events, the Pahskhi Peace Conference Administration Office wishes to make the following statement:

The Pahkshi Peace Conference will continue but there will be a slight change to the schedule:

Tonight's proceedings will be suspended for a period of one (1) day to allow for the installation of increased security precautions as well as a remembrance service for the late Doctor Sarain, which will be held at the intended time for tonight's proceedings. (22:00)

The remembrance service will be hosted by Chair Utari Onzo and will be held according to the Amarr tradition and faith in honor of the late Doctor Sarain's heritage and faith. There will be an additional eulogy afforded by Press Relations Officer Liam Antolliere in addition to the normal proceedings of the service.

The intended schedule for the Pahkshi Peace Conference will resume tomorrow.

We thank all participants for their understanding, patience and participation as the conference moves forward under these circumstances.

Thank you.

Doctor Sarain was an outstanding and unique individual and we will miss his wisdom in the coming years. I express my deepest condolences to any family, and friends he may have had and to the administration team of the Pakhshi Peace Conference. I would appreciate a statement addressing whether the expulsions of Repracor and Commander Kim are linked to his untimely death or are simply a change of policy by the new leadership.

As a Delegate, I now have several concerns regarding security at the conference and am forced to admit a growing lack of confidence in the current team's ability to guarantee my safety and security. For that reason I will no longer be resident at the conference and will be withdrawing at the end of proceedings, each day, in order to update my soft-clone. I will also not be keeping any sensitive data or valuable equipment at the conference site itself.

Should the worst happen, I would also warn the organisers that I intend to have an exfiltration plan in place for myself, my people and possible additional other capsuleers. I request that my entourage and myself be permitted to carry small-arms for self defence but, since I'm sure the organisers will not permit this, I will be removing them from the conference. I advise others with entourages made up of non-Empyreans to do the same.

I will, of course, be placing a complaint with the CBD regarding the performance of the current security team and I encourage other Caldari delegates to do the same.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

Although I still believe we would be better served by a war- instead of a peace conference, I feel a deep respect for any pilot who has the fortitude to try and imprint his will upon the universe. Sarain was one such, and I shall remember him and regret his passing.

Let it be stated publicly that neither Commander Kim nor Repracor Industries are in any way under suspicion for the death of Doctor Sarain and their expulsion from the conference is not related to the incident.

Delegate Tuulinen,

We appreciate your continued participation and cannot fault you for your increased concern over security and safety. However, we would like to state that it is not the fault of the current security staff as the incident occurred in private, secure quarters were security is not permitted and there have not been any indications of a security breach or negligence at this time. We would ask that you refrain from filing a complaint with the CBD until such a time as it is determined that a fault in the security arrangements and/or personnel was the cause (directly or indirectly) of this incident.

Firearms will not be permitted as they will only serve to increase security risks to all delegates and visitors.

There is nothing I can say about the Honorable Doctor that people do not already know. That is because everyone who ever met him was the recipient of his compassion, his humor, and his wisdom regardless of their status in society or their background. If he had done nothing, if his works were never undertaken or this conference never conceived, he would still have the highest praise possible for a person because he was an incredibly decent human being.

But he did convene this miracle. This meeting of enemies for friendship. There were many obstacles and many naysayers, I was even one of them. But here we are. He did it. And it is our duty to see it through. If this fails, if we cannot make the first tentative step on the road to peace then the shame lies on our shoulders. If we have honor, we will continue.

I did not know Doctor Sarain, but I was heartbroken by this sad news.

Please accept my, and Repracor Industries sincere condolences. I'm sorry for the circumstances that has led up to us not being able to continue our participation in the conference, but I hope that you can work together to produce something lasting to honor his memory.

Wishing you peace as you grieve this loss,
Aurora Morgan and Repracor Industries.

Words cannot express the loss we have taken as a community today. As can be clearly seen, Dr. Sarain was much loved and well respected, and although i did not know him long, i feel a great sadness in his passing.

I will be following the investigation into his death very closely. I expect CONCORD to provide full co-operation with the internal security team of the P.P.C considering this occurred on their station. I must also inform the P.P.C staff that due to the unsettling nature of Dr. Sarain death, i will be retiring to my ship each night, and while i will be tentatively maintaining a room at the conference for private conversations, i do not posses the confidence that this incident will not repeat itself.

Rest in peace

Respectfully,

When I first met Dr. Sarain, he danced. He shared with me the beauty and grace of his people and world. It was wonderful. He was always kind to those around him, regardless of their race or loyalties. As such, he was naturally one of those that I turned to when I started on my path to salvation in the Faith. I also cannot think of a person better suited to preside over a tribunal of justice.

I regret that my last conversation with him was about the regrettable incident between my corporation and Strike Commander Kim. I wish it had been about the art of his people or their cuisine, or my soul.

While I can no longer help forge his dreamed of path to peace, I encourage the rest of the delegates to learn from my mistakes and strive that much harder to find that path to peace.

You will be missed, my friend. You are now no doubt the wind that you danced with. May you find Peace in God's arms.

I regret that I am unable to attend the service tonight as I have been called away on a matter of state. I have provided Administrator Utari Onzo with a statement on my behalf for the service, I will provide a transcript here.

"I first met Doctor Arkon Sarain at a chance meeting in the Elysion, looking for someone to share a cup of tea with, I sat across from him at random. We engaged in a civil debate over politics and religion and he impressed me greatly with his ability to reason and debate with compassion, dignity and wisdom.

Over the next few times we spoke, I continued to be impressed by his integrity, his character and most of all, his heart for people. Not nations, not politics, people. He had a profound effect on me, forever changing the way I looked at the cluster and my place within it.

I could never thank him for being the inspiration that he has been and never had the chance to tell him that it was my time with him that ignited in me a greater passion for peace and the drive to see it through regardless of the cost.

Generations to come would never believe that capsuleers could count among their number so remarkable a man as he. May his example and his life live as long as we whom knew him keep it alive. Godspeed, Your Honor."

You will be missed, my friend.

I am beyond grief and rage at the news of Dr. Sarain's passing.

This is a disgusting tragedy. The man was devoted to God and his service, and organized one of the most ambitious undertakings in a long while. And this is how he is repaid?!

I will not spit on this man's memory.

As a delegate, I will be at every conference that will be held that I am able. To not continue would be unthinkable.

I did not personally know Dr. Sarain well, and there is not much beyond what has already been said in his memory that I can dictate. His reputation as a fair and just judge in the service of the Kor-Azor heir reached my holdings even before the Peace Conference.

This was one of the main reasons I was so interested in participating. I had very little beyond public meetings with him. Nothing of him showed anything beyond the grace and compassion of a man of God. I will do everything within my power to assist in continuing this worthy project.

This must succeed.

Today was very productive and I am proud of my fellow delegates for the work we accomplished. I was disheartened to learn that, after a Matari delegate's proposal for a Commission on Illegal Slave Trade and Slave Abuse was split into two committees by a majority vote a few malcontents staged a dramatic walkout. I am sure, however, that the remaining members are just as committed to the goals of peace as ever and that, maybe once they have had time to calm down perhaps these Matari delegates will return to help us craft proposals for later consideration by the General Congress.

When the minutes are published I am sure the public will agree with my assessment of a very successful first session after the unfortunate news of the late Honorable Doctor Sarain. I also wish to congratulate Utari Onzo on his performance as new Chair of the General Congress.

Let us continue the Honorable Doctor's Great Work.

Spin this however you like Amarrian. The fact that you invoke the name of Arkon Sarain in your post does him a tremendous disservice. I think he at least would have the decency not to refer as his fellow delegates as "malcontents" nor would he rush to IGS to smear his opponents.

Your kind made it quite clear that no Matari voice was welcome in this sham of a conference. Amarr and Caldari delegates outnumbered their Minmatar and Gallente peers. It was only natural to expect that every Minmatar voiced commission was either voted down, or twisted to your purposes before the commission was even formed. Every Amarr or Caldari proposal sailed through. More than once were Minmatar delegates silenced by the chair of the commitee before being able to voice their objections.

It's quite clear what sort of peace your lot are after. The same as always. You wish to get your way and everyone else must bend their knee to your wishes.

This is disheartening.

I have failed the conference and its delegates by not realizing a serious oversight prior to this point. As soon as it was determined that the representation would be imbalanced as it is, the structure should have been changed from a democratic structure to republican structure; where each involved polity elected a representative to speak for the entirety of the group and thus counting only as a singular vote in each matter, rather than permitting a per individual vote representation where greater attendance removes a fair and balanced decision-making process.

I personally apologize for this oversight, not as the Press Relations Officer of the conference but as a Gallente representative who helped lay the foundation for the conference and completely failed to rectify the inequity when it was glaring me in the face.

You, your companions and those who have both benefited and suffered for this oversight have my deepest and most sincere apologies.

I will strive to have the conference restructured appropriately and push for a recast of the votes under the new structure to allow a more balanced approach to each matter.

If there is anything else I can do...please let me know.

Sincerely,

~O.J. Antolliere
