Really appreciate your podcasts! I'm a new player and learning a lot from them. I also like to listen to them while trying to sleep (usually is pretty counterproductive tho, as I'm getting sucked into the discussion and end up sleep-depraved), but Kil2, it would be lovely if you could lower your mic slightly, as there's sometimes a noticeable difference between you and your co-host, and then I have to amp up the volume to hear you both, which further decreases my chances of falling asleep :p Luxury problems indeed, but would really appreciate it!

Also, I got a suggestion for you! I've noticed that Cannibal Cane is a pretty skilled player that got tons of awesome piracy-stories in the Pirate-thread. He might be an interesting guest on your show :)

I thought I heard something about an iTunes link on the show. Is this true, or just fanciful wishery on my part?

Just catching up on the last couple episodes. You guys are doing a great job! Prom, also, great job.

There is something I want to comment on though. In both episodes you comment on a shift toward more stationary "roams" and you say that it is because of links. It's really not an important point, but just wanted to point out this isn't the case. The reason for more stationary roams is mostly just that, in our experience, you often have a better chance of a fight by just spreading out over a few busy systems, doing some light scouting around, and forming up only when there is already stuff formed up to fight you. Also it's easy to go afk and have a very casual gang format.

At different times this works better than others, depending on the current arrangement of power blocks and stuff. Also, it's not really a new thing. By people that fly with us, they are usually called PODLA roams, because it's been our modus operandi through a few alliances.

If anything, now is a better time for conventional roams then at other times in the last couple years just because the current arrangement of players in space isn't as great for stationary roams then in the past and because gang format is more important than it used to be.

Still enjoying these podcasts, please keep'em coming ! ;-)

Here's a question :
When you fly a blaster ship, what ammo do you load by default, and what's generaly the one you end up using the most ?

default is almost always caldari navy antimatter. with small guns you are in something that likely needs to kill drones first, so CN antimatter is obv choice. with other guns it's not always the case. with large guns in a shield talos, for example, you will default to null since the whole idea of the ship is built around the fact that large blasters can actually hit well outside of hard tackle range now using null, and you are pretty well screwed if you let anything fast get in to CN antimatter ranges anyway.

void is mostly for killing stuff bigger than your guns. if it is bigger than your guns then you are likely trying to get under it's guns anyway, so void range penalty isn't a very big deal. with the boost to hybrid loading times it is now a lot easier to start with CN antimatter to kill drones and then switch to void - although it's still not usually worth it imo. this is because you will want to switch to void where it will take a while to kill the big thing that no longer has drones. however, if it is going to take a while to kill the big thing that has no drones then something else may interfere and having void loaded in developing situations is often getting caught with your pants down.

First of all, thanks for spending time to do this podcast - which I believe is extremely helpful for many people - including myself. Also the engagement commentary section on youtupe. Love it! :)

I know that the two of you have a passion for mechanics and how stuff work in Eve and I'd love to hear your thoughs on how ammo & ship signature affects your line of though in a engagement. Which ships works best against low signature signatuee and so on. I also think that many PvP'er dont know how the signature affects both missiles and guns.

You talk alot about the ECM problems you're getting all the time, but how about tracking disruptors? I guess they could be a pain in the ass for the kiting tactics you often use.

Best regards
Jezs

Gents,

LOVE the podcast. I would love it much more though if you guys could address manual piloting. All the "pro" PvPers talk about it but concrete examples with a discussion as to why they did what the did is a bit rare. Keep up the great work!

I was just looking for a podcast like this. Thanks! I'll give it a try.

I can give you one hint. In a frig you don't want to fly in a straight line at someone with a bigger ship. If your radial velocity is low or nothing you'll die. zig-zaging is also a bad idea. There's a point in the middle of your turn where you're flying directly at the person. The correct way to do it is to fly in a spiral. That way you'll always be flying at an angle.
