Yeah my only issue is there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the pricing. Absolutely don't mind some skins for the same ship being different prices but did someone just throw darts a board with AUR prices on? What arbitrary measure has been used to select one colour combination as more expensive than another?

I had wondered the same. Best I can come up with is that they are experimenting on us. Twisted

If you want to look like a million dollars be prepared to pay a million dollars. Cool

You don't need that chain if you can't make it rain!

Based on the believed desirability of the new skins. They know very well some of us want to Khanid all the things.

I doubt it's even just believed. CCP likely has plenty of consumption data to base their price points on, at least for the old skins. The new stuff can likely be divined from the data they have from the old skins, to at least some degree of accuracy.

I do think they're way too expensive, if I want to skin one of my freighters it will cost me as much as the freighter itself, that said though, it is optional, so I don't see them being that big of an issue.

Just glad I can opt out of seeing them. Lol

Now we know why they re-did them all with the Neocom and made them bland. X
Soon they will be selling colour buttons for the Necom in the NES store. Roll

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

I like the pale blue, and the yellow. Too bad we don't have a good red, nice deep purple, white, penicillin green, and matte pink / metallic black combinations.

But mostly, too bad that we can't purchase a color combo and apply it to ALL the ships. That's what I imagined the skins would be. That's how other games have them. Current skin costs are only appropriate if ONE skin applies to ALL ships. Not gonna buy piecemeal per ship, screw that noise.

I'm starting to think CCP should actually start acting on the sarcastic BS the forums generate if only to further cultivate NES rage causing further hyperbolic delusions to be presented for later implementation. We keep saying we expect it, why shouldn't they deliver?

Expecting station interior skins. One per station type, of course.

Also, I'd like to have pajamas for wearing in my capt. quarters, as there's a bed. The NES store only has public-wear.

Also, put a damn fan in the capt. quarters, and let us adjust wind speed, so that we can put to use that Physically Simulated Cloth and Hair graphics setting, cause it's kinda useless with no wind to animate my hair.

i don't see any problem with that as well, as long as it doesn't hinder me from clicking those buttons.

CCP can microtransaction all they want as long as it's cosmetics ONLY, NO magic ammos, NO instant tank % increase, i'm down with that.

overall I think skin prices are a little too high, but I'm also not too worried about it.

It´s cosmetic so no one needs it to improve their game - changing skin during a battle is quite funny tho but wont have any impact I guess. :D

Besides being cosmetic there is so much ISK in EvE or to be more precise in the wallets of players that it´s no problem to simply buy the stuff with ISK. If you can´t generate enough ISK and want a skin buy it for real money or start making ISK.
While some skins look expensive at first glance it´s just a skin and nothing you need. So it´s more like "well, I have enough money/ISK and want to buy me more fancy stuff."

When I came back to EvE I thought with nearly 100bil in assets/liquid ISK and sth around 70plex I am kinda rich, now I know I am middle class at best. There are a lot people with a lot more ISK in EvE than I thought and it is really easy to make a lot of ISK without going crazy or capital escalate rats in w-space. I make ~200mil ISK a day just by shooting people in low-sec. I never intended to make ISK ingame because I thought I have to kill rats, missioning, industry, the list goes on but that´s not the case. Some exploring when I feel like and you make a lot of ISK without even realising you are doing it.

Last but not least, for some people 40bucks is nothing, for others it´s a lot but as long as you can make a ton of ISK in game and the NES stuff doesn´t give you any advantage like premium ammo or some **** like that there is no need to rage about the prices - imho. :)

This. I think it was very good movement from CCP: they created something expensive, what ppl do want but it does not break balance in game. T3 destroyers broke balance, for example, and has had to be re-balanced again. Skins are perfect at any price, cause you do not really need them. Nor in PvE, not in PvP. But you want them, so if you have spare ISK - you dump it on skins, not on PLEX or zydrine.

The more such things to come - the better for economy. I do see greate potential of this in "walking in station" thingy. Space rich bored ppl can socialize in virtual space bars, normal player enjoys ships and modules, that are balanced and not overpriced.

I am hoping that they do a "Hello Kitty Online" ship skin so I can then put all my ships in that and then shoot gankers in it, are you listening CCP!!!!

When the going gets tough the Gankers get their CSM rep to change mechanics in their favour.

I like the idea of ship skins, but overall they feel lackluster. If you look at other games where micro-transactions with skins take place, their skins are much closer to what is considered a micro-transaction and the skins vary from the main item model by a decent amount to warrant the purchase. Different animations, lighting, colors, effects - simply a brand new version all around.

These skins for EVE ships are really disappointing. As if someone picked out a few panels on the ship and dropped in a different color from the pallet and finished the process off by tossing a dart to see where on the price scale board it would land. I like the part where the skins are able to be on the market and the mechanics in how you change skins and such. Those are great.

Just my thoughts on the matter.
