Formal Petition to Bring Back the Old Damage Control Icon

The old suitcase never made sense, but it at least looked like something instead of the pixelated junk they added now. Can someone tell me what its supposed to look like? I honestly thought this was an april fools joke when they announced it. It looks awful.

TL:DR, Make another icon please.

Well i think, its a device like - uhm - any kind of CPU with a strange first aid symbol on it... or it is (maybe) this short of thing you have to break a glass to use.

More like "uh.. i need a Damage control right now"*punch the glass*"...damage control activated!!" - and you have a bandage for free if you cut yourself (thats the health symbol)

if we have gotten rid off the Trauma Missiles, we can get rid off this new splattered blue ladybird icon!

Every time i look at ingame killmail i think "WTF is this blue thingy? It looks like it does not belong here?"
Then i recall that this is new 'design' by CCP.

Well... there is 'Modern Art' where you can find lots of badly grouped colors and shapes. Another example: little girls - when whey try to 'be beautiful' they can use completely randomly chosen colors for their dress and makeup.

Why dont you just keep them both. 'DMG Control' and 'DMG Control V2' ?

Normally you wouldnt do that, but the Damage Control module just makes every go fluffy..... Big smile

well plenty prefer it so doubt they will change it back for an old fashioned icon, just because it doesnt fit in now does not mean it wont when they roll out all new icons

I'm not particular pro keeping the old ... BUT the new simply does not match the look&feel of the rest of the module icons. All other icons have a different color scheme and some nice 3D look. Also the detail level is to high compared to the other icons IMO.

I'm my own NPC alt.

While I prefer the old one, as it was very iconic, it did seem out if place. I do not like the new one though.

If anything I think the icon should be a ship like the ones from cloaking devices, only green or yellow to indicate health.

While a chip makes sense logically, it's to cold, no class to it. A chip could be anything. Hell I get chips when I salvage wrecks all the time.

Really? A whole petition over an icon, that CCP just changed for a reason? I am sure there are more important things for us and CCP to focus on.

Yeah, I liked my old Avatar, but they changed the visuals on them and no way I am getting it back, so that's the way it is.

If CCP restores the old icon, it's like they wasted their time changing it in the first place. I have not seen them reverting a work of their own, maybe altering it, but not reverting it.

I would love to have an updated damage control icon that looks like it's not from another game but has this undeniable distinctive 'EVE feel' to it.

dunno, same as nomenclature "shouldn't" affect gameplay either, but I remember that petition thread on the reverting trauma back to scourge was quite impressive, just saying...

argue for the sake of arguing, I'm neither for nor against this DCU icon thing, just pointing out the facts that events have occurred in the past.

I hope in the next patch CCP changes the overview color of reds to teal or something, so that you become forced to start saying "10 teals in system" instead of "10 reds in system" in teamspeak.

And when you complain, I'll say that "aesthetics doesnt affect gameplay".
