You warp to the wreck asap,
make sure you are close to the wreck,
open it,
initiate warp off,
hit LOOT ALL and hope you got the good parts.

And you become yellow so every one can shoot you. The newbee question is : after concord kills ganker, can I loot its tornado wreck without becomming criminal or it is also yellow?

I can't teach you to have balls.
You have to learn that yourself! :)

And if you read properly, I said ...
... initiate warpoff ...
... hit LOOT ALL.

There is a high chance you get away.
Did that quite a few times.
You can gain hundreds of millions or even billions,
for risking a cheap magnate. :)

And if you succeed and loot a small fortune ...
... I promise you that you will be thrilled from the experience ......

....... of moving it to a tradehub! *snickers xD*

It's good advise. If you take it or not is your choice. (:

And I would agree with you. Pretty good advice. Though, it can be used as a decent-at-minimal source of income, it is very luck based. But, fun. I do remember playing a trial way back in like '07 and doing this once. It wasn't much, but I ran away with like 6.5 mil, all I could hold with ****** starter ship cargo with no upgrades. Haha. I just happened to watch someone get blown up in an asteroid field by another player. Opened the wreck, and decided, Why not? What have I got to lose?

The difference with most hauler kills is that somebody picked that for profitability reasons. Much higher chance of goodies then a belt barge

It was mostly turrets/launchers/ammo and other fittings that I got from it, though. As I recall, I don't think it was a mining/hauling vessel. I could be wrong, my memory of it is a little hazy. Only part that stands out is the part where I made out with a couple mil free. Of course, there was a hell of a lot more stuff that I didn't get the chance to loot due to velator cargo limits. Haha.

Lol. I did something quite similar on my first week. Some guy was leaving cans with a mil isk of crap in them outside the tutorial hub. I was trying to work out how to loot it and some other guy did and then got blapped. After looting what was left I had a think. I hit align looted and warped. The can baiter convoed me asked if I was new (it took me like 3-4 attempts of doing this to figure out the safety system) and congratulated me on surviving and gave advise and explained how it worked. Was a pleasant experience truth be told

Haha, yeah. That happened to me, too. Though, the guy was just being a douche about it. It only had small amounts of some ammo in the cans, trying to nab dumb newbies who don't know any better. When I got the message that if I continued to loot I could be killed by the guy and his corp, I just decided it was probably a bad idea. Lol.

Well, no luck at PS for me. Basically told it's either not possible to do, or that it's too much work to be worth it, I guess. That I wouldn't have any fun or something. So, no one really gave me any additional advice or any salvage sites. Basically told me to suck it up and at least pay the first month. Haha.

Tested the new map for probing (it's still s***, don't use it) and scooped 5 Wardens II yesterday. I think I should start scanning for stuff again ... Big smile

I'm my own NPC alt.

Hundred years ago I scanned four augmented drones,
which were at 25 Million ISK each.

Traded them for a Dramiel.

That ringing in your ears you're experiencing right now is the last gasping breathe of a dying inner ear as it got thoroughly PULVERISED by the point roaring over your head at supersonic speeds. - Tippia

Have a look at the Making ISK guide. If you have other ideas for how newbies can make ISK, add them to the guide, then you can save typing out long forum posts ;)

  1. Align
  2. Loot
  3. Warp

You can no longer loot yellow wrecks after initiating warp.
