I finally saw someone flying a Black Ops Battleship!

I know sometimes it's difficult to realize just how much you spend on incidental things each month or year, but seriously, EVE is very cheap entertainment compared to most things... If you are a smoker, smoke one less pack a week and pay for EVE, with money left over to pick up a cheap bundle of flowers for the EVE widow upstairs.

That tractor beam requiring a lot of cap, was it?

Also, how did that even happen?

Oh GOD, what are you doing with the guns?
If you're having trouble deciding which guns to put on it, that's fine but DON'T JUST TAKE ONE OF EACH MAN!

I was waiting for some purist to comment on that.

Its called fitting as much dps as I can. The fit is fine.

On paper, it looks like a very average killmail of a failfitted Hurricane.

The actual backstory is a little more interesting. We were a small band of players (I think around 10) who were allied with an alliance of ~150, for control of a string of systems in Stain. One day, the ~150 man alliance got into a vicious argument with leader of our group over thunderbolt heavy missiles (I kid you not) which resulted in them setting us red. A few of our number defected to the enemy cause, while others fled to the safety of highsec.

That left about 5 of us to deal with the menace of the evil AoV empire.

After a few weeks of geurilla warfare, we've taken out some of their ratting ships and managed to win a few station/gate engagements against them. But they're wising up. They now refuse to do anything without a blob of ships on standby, ready to deal with a sudden attack.

So, we devised tactics to deal with this. I EFT-warriored up a dual plate, massive EHP hurricane fitting. The idea was that I would go in first, snag one of their ratting ships, then call in support; support would include another hurricane with two RR's fitted to help me tank a bit longer while we took apart their fleet.

So, I threw together that ship with whatever modules we had lying around in our system. (Hence the terrible t1 meta 0 MWD/Sebo.)

Then, one day, it happened. They had a Phantasm lurking in the belts - a blight upon the glorious skies of UF-KKH. We would not stand for this injustice against what was once our space.

So, it happened. I warped my Hurricane on top of him. For what we once were, I had him webbed and scrammed.

In fleet, I told my allies "warp! he's pinned! gogogo!"

So, our very small squad consisting of the RR Hurricane, a Tempest, a Drake, and a Ferox landed. We made swift work of the original phantasm, melting it before I had even hit armor. (That Ishtar on the killmail wasn't with us, he was either killmail whoring or accidentally shooting the wrong target...)

And that's when their fleet arrived.

Three HACs, two BS, a stealth bomber, and a HIC, greatly outgunning and outvaluing us.

But we remained vigilant, and managed to successfully take down a Cerberus, Megathron, and Ishtar before the FC had called a retreat - I had died, and we also lost a Tempest and a second Hurricane. However, our Ferox and Drake managed to get out successfully.

Total lossess;
~220mil worth of insurable t1 stuff

Total kills;
~450mil of uninsurable t2/faction stuff
~120mil of insurable Megathron

Not bad at all, considering the circumstances. Big smile

Purist is not the correct term for those who think fitting a mix 'n' match of guns in your case is stupid.

And before you go into the semantics, you could have had a third ACR for, as you put it;
"as much dps as I can."

But you, as with most others here, seem very sensitive so I'll just leave it there.

This seems to be more of a sensative topic for you not me - what with the caps and all. I just said the fit is fine.

Yes I can put another acr on there but then I wouldn't be able to put the poly carbon on there and I'd have a harder time scramming things. (I'm surprised you didn't complain about putting a poly on an armor tank)

Someone told you not to mix guns and that is generally true. But that is not the begin all and end all. Work out your fits for what you want to do.

My Phobos

Back story: PL and DRF where terrorizing Atlas in their home area. It got to the point where PL would log in several SC's and Titans and just fly around system and blow stuff up just to demoralize Atlas. Atlas needed help, so Agony and the rest of Provi Fight club formed up an AHAC gang and surprised PL, driving off what little support they had and tackling a bunch of PL supercaps just off a gate.

That was when Atlas and AAA were supposed to bring in the hammer and roast our targets. Rather than dropping the hammer, it was the ball that was dropped. There was no capital fleet ready, and after 20-30 minutes only a small dread fleet was assembled, which died horribly to the PL supercaps. After about 45 minutes, recon reported RA and friends where en route to free the PL supercaps. By that point in time, we had very few bubblers left, and no way to kill the ships we had tackled, so we tactically retreated.

Out of our 80-man AHAC fleet, we had very few losses. Those losses were primarily due to titan's DD'ing our bubblers (and hence my lossmail).

The fight was awesome, and I learned a lot during it!

Not that I did anything at all but go along for the ride and then yell, "FU.......DGE," while trying to GTFO of where the FC put me...but being a part of something this epic has always been one of my favorite deaths:
