tldr; It's awesome!

The most shocking difference is the new atmospheric flight model. Its way way better, rockets and planes behave way differently now and are faster and accelerate faster. Fairings are now a must have when you build rockets as are heat shields if you wish to return in one piece.


Now I'm off to an asteroid to attempt to mine it. Lol
I bet its more fun than mining asteroids in EvE.

I'm pretty sure that you can still do that but it just means that your crew wouldn't get back to safety (which in Kerbal sense is irrelevant).

Warning: heatshields have no mass, so pods tend to flip upside down and burn on re-entry. Wait until hotfix with any landings that you can't reverse. Another recommended fix is early (25 km+) parachute deployment. Apparently the chutes don't burn and are pretty much indestructible.
