It's not just a vanity thing. For nearly 7 years our corp has used them both for management of roles and to show member progression. There is honour in titles and consistency behind the roles they hold.

Yep I have to agree about the members titles...

We should be able to turn them on and off if this has been raised as a HUGE opsec issue by the torrent of requests to sort this out... if i'd seen that discussion i could have asked at that point to make removing it optional...

They are really appreciated by hard working members of Corps who do a lot of work, some call them vanity but I prefer to see them as a small token of our appreciation of their work...

And... we made them with colours Sad

Also... no way am I going through all the individual members and adding the titles they have... I have much better things to do with my time.. like continuing to spend hours trying to work out how to use the Corp titles and roles and grantable not grantable.. this hanger container but not that one.... coz i notice none of that actually got changed....

I have the same problem... that didn't seem doable. And since all alts on the same account end up in the same redeeming queue, it makes it impossible to hand the same SKIN to each character,

Yep, exactly my problem.

Yep, exactly my problem.

Contracts function as a workaround there, but it would be nice to be able to redeem them as they would be used.

What I've noticed so far today, since I seem to be one of the lucky few without Launcher issues (for once!).

One: When docked, at random times I hear the "docking" sound effect. No windows open, not fiddling with anything. Am I re-docking from not being precise in my parking? So like the last mini-expansion, there's at least one audio bug floating around.

Two: Doppler/echo, probes that won't get with their orders to move, a map full of inertia and icons that are very Not user friendly by constantly hogging space, difficulty finding the "You Are Here" teeny tiny tag, the new map still could use some time and attention. Looks like nailing down data and relic sites is on hold until the new map gets it's act together.

Three: Toggle for Vanity Titles. I'm very fond of them, on both CEO toons.

Four: I won't get into the sad appearance of the new Damage Control Mod, I pick my battles and that one looks like a lost cause. But could you please square and true it? It's off center by a few pixels and it's driving my OCD mind batty.

Five, and the biggie on my personal bug list.

ArrowArrowSLOW DOWN.AttentionAttention

When a Dev has to post things like, it was in planning but "We Ran Out Of Time" to install it, there's proof of problems. When Devs are the ones on the opening page posting bugs with the oopsie of "it'll be fixed with the morning's patch really truly!," there's a larger problem than buggy releases. Why the fast launch cycle if so much is coming out Known to be busted, and bugs from 3-5 mini-expansions ago are Still Buggy? My silly logic. Ain't Broke, Don't Fix. If Broken, It Gets Priority Over New Broken Shinys To Launch.

Southern 'Merican English translation.

CCP, whoa there, hold yer horses, breaking more than you're fixing with this breakneck speed.

To wrap this post on a positive constructive note. Thankee sai for not causing yet more migraines with graphic tweaks, that was a pleasant surprise. I can still see and not need the bottle of Excedrin Migraine sitting on my computer desk. Good job for not searing my poor weak eyeballs.

>Jeven

Addendum: A friendly suggestion to CCP that could win them some points and lower overall upset down here with the filthy mass players. "Forgetting" to check on a bug list for a new expansion after 4-5 days isn't the way to win over grumpy bitter vets or keep the fresh frozen meat joining up with Eve willing to tag along with the daily insanity that makes Eve unique. When it becomes blatantly obvious that given a week all problems are then blown off in preparation for an upcoming mess of a release, it gives the assumption that you could care less about fixing the game so it's more enjoyable, playable, and that we're only paychecks to you. Another good reason to slow down and do some serious repairs to the client. Perhaps view it as a company Damage Control? (Then YOU can use that ugly new icon and suffer with us!)

Pilots with the Roles still have them, just not the title associated.

I reviewing the devblog it doesn't appear that this was to have happened. Any information on this?

This is intended and is now included in the patch notes, but it was added a bit late:
"Titles are no longer publicly displayed in the "Show Info" window of a character, allowing corps to use them without leaking sensitive data."

I help manage Corporations, is there a way I can petition this because I find it a step-back in use? For example: at this stage of the game, Corp. directors could name titles interesting names that wouldn't give away anything.

This change was thrown in after the patch. I wished that there should have been a discussion about this.

I cannot seem to fit an expanded probe launcher on a confessor any more. I know they reduced the cpu on that ship but fitting is telling me it is off by 165!

Was the cpu bonus for probe launchers removed for expanded ones? Tried both the sisters an the T1.

I thought it was a bug! A toggle button would be really nice, lot of people were using the titles for public/roleplay/specific reasons Cry

Really CCP ?
if a corp doesn't want to leak sensitive data they can use weird symbols (that only they understand what they mean ) instate of names . Idea

anyone who created a title had a consideration that these roles will be shown publicly to anyone ,otherwise they wouldn't name them that way .

So CCP do not do random small change assuming its better for player security , while its not .Straight

titles are basically our identity within a corp and an alliance , also it's sign to show the importance of a character from a corp to strangers when jumping into a hostile system . What's next ? censoring character names so they no longer publicly displayed to prevent them from leaking "sensitive" data ?

Thanks to your random change i don't know who is recruit in my alliance and who is not . So basically i don't know who is trust worthy and who is not .UghUgh

I've tried to reset them, rename them, delete/add them, but they will not show up on a players info window :(

Anyone else?

Cheers,

Really? Sensitive data?

I can pretty much guarantee that 90% of the player base use the titles for "vanity" naming as well as the intended purpose.

Please bring them back!

You know you can edit members to give them vanity titles?
Also, you know that you can assign roles and grantable roles without using the Title feature? It seems that the "sensitive data" feature was already in place.

Regarding reports about the resource cache being cleared by the repair tool: It seems like somehow an old version of the repair tool was active, which showed exactly this behavior. Please let your repair tool update itself now, it should update to version 3.60 (there might be one error message during the update process, just restart it).
Btw: Normally it is way better to just use the launcher and ignore the repair tool.

How exactly do I "let my repair tool update itself"?

And how do I get my launcher back? It vanished while updating yesterday. I hate using the damn' thing, but I don't have much choice now that running the Repair Tool deletes the shared cache.

Had an issue where the patch did not correctly update/download some shared client files, which caused the client to hang on load when run (both from the bin file and from the launcher). Manually updated the shared resources using rescache.exe and now everything works peachy-keen.

Noticed during the short time I was online tonight that my pointer was skipping around all over the place while clicking things, including all the way across my smaller monitor client at one point. Going to see if the issue persists tomorrow after I clear my cache and file a bug report if it keeps up.

Offline Mode, the only fix that seems to work is an uninstall and reinstall. This has been happening every update for the last year it feels like. Just wanted to voice a concern since I'm seeing other having the same issue, so it's not local.

Spamming ctrl-click on the first empty row of your overview to catch pods on ship destruction isn't working now. I see other people in the thread posted about issues with other actions involving fast clicking, this is maybe connected to your code to stop people accidentally issuing manual piloting commands in space (that was really ever an issue? If it was happening for people with faulty mice whose switches bounce, that isn't something you need to fix.)

There are some weird input lags since downtime, also reported by alliance mates.
Locking people seems to be affected, clicking in space too and it's most noticeable on faction warfare acceleration gates. (not tested with other acceleration gates)

When I click a button, I want your game to acknowledge that I clicked that button. I don't give a **** if I just clicked a different button, it just means I want to click them BOTH. I've only played a couple hours with the new patch and your game ignoring my clicks is already driving me insane. It's ridiculous that I have to sit there and wait for 3 seconds every time I want to do something that involves more than a single click to make sure your crappy software picked it up and is actually going to acknowledge my commands. Fix this now.
