[A'J] [EMERG] Arek'Jaalan's Drifter Research Call for Assistance

Hello everyone!

You all know who I am, but that's not important. I want to issue a plea for assistance on behalf of a group working at Arek'Jaalan, some who are members of Arek'Jaalan Project Salus.

We are currently working on methods to combat the drifters, and would like assistance in finding out what of our current technology works and doesn't. Example: Does energy neuting a drifter have an effect? The same for certain types of weapons, ECM, Damps et cetera.
Please post any information here you have here about the module in question, and it's effect on the Drifter, or even if it doesn't have any effect. Things that have been confirmed only please, we don't want extra work to do.

I issue this as an emergency appeal for information.
Thank you.

Edit:

Recommended Damage Types to use:
Thermal for shield layers.
EM for armour.

The following modules are confirmed to have an effect on Drifter Battleships:

  • Stasis Webifiers
  • Tracking Disruptors
  • Target Painters

The following modules do nothing:

  • Sensor Dampeners
  • Energy Vampires/Neutralizers/Capacitor Draining Weapons
  • ECM in any form

Please keep sending any information and posting it here, thank you!

Talk to this pilot.

She has killed Drifters in frigates and even Ventures. It's somewhat of her passion.

If Ferni can't help you then you're pretty much outta luck, Doctor.

Of course I have too many jobs to do! Research won't progress without work.

Either way, surely someone's done some research with module testing?

So... those ECM sensibilities first claimed by various people were mistaken, I take it ? Was it a fad, or something mistaken for something else ?

No, actually, I was there at the first battle, and the only reason we defeated them was ECM.

They adapted, and are continuing to adapt to our attack strategies, which is why we are working on developing new weapons technology. You can catch me discussing these things in the Arek'Jaalan channel so feel free to tune in there.

Thank you all for your help.

Joke? Good sir, I'm everything but a joke

My lust for drifter knowledge knows no end

My skill has no limit, as I make the limit for everyone else

My wisdom makes Amarrian lords fear me

My personality rivals the most loved presidents in all the Federation

My vocabulary is ample as well as vicious as I can brutally beat down any man or women in a heated debate about the meaning of the word "The"

My strength is of the gods as I can benchpress the heavens

My perception is keen, I can hear a pen dropped space, see a snail come out of his shell on another planet, taste food without even having to taste it and be aware of every rock on my path to legendary status

My endurance is what inspired the creation of tanks.

My intelligence makes scientists around the universe envious

My charisma is more ssuperior than the devil, I can sell meat to a vegan, convince holders to release their slaves with just a word, win hearts and minds with just my body language

My agility is of a 10 star athlete, I won trophies in every sport in New eden, I can run a lap around Caldari prime in 10 minutes.

My dexterity is unreal, I can draw my gun in 0.00001 seconds before you even blink, create a paper airplane with just one thumb and use a combat knife to give a man a high class haircut

My professional attitude allows me to act upon any plan with surgical accuracy

Also, no one is more humble.

More seriously, I understand the the Drifters have adapted to ECM and (in their first couple weeks) high-speed kiting tactics. Are there any trumps that still work, or are we now limited to overwhelming force? Also, is there anything else that used to work, but no longer does?

I admit I'm still skeptical that attacking the Drifters is our best course, but it increasingly seems to be the one we've settled on. As with, respectfully, many other things.

Frenjo, Impersonating an arm of DED is not legal.
You know this.

Also, as you stated you feel that the purposeful irradiation of those present for your presentation at the Seyllin conference was an 'acceptable risk' I think it's beyond time that AJ, at the very least, sought a replacement.
To put it bluntly, you have proven yourself unworthy of a lead position, anywhere.

Don't try to discredit me by taking that out of context, and of course it's not legal.

Don't state the obvious. Also, I am lead of a project not of A'J, and we are currently implementing reforms per the meeting we had last night.

Oh, i don't need to discredit you.
You've done a stand up job of that yourself.

As for taking anything out of context, the statement i made was in the exact same context as the conversation in the summit last night.

So, just for clarity, You are not a member of any DED taskforce, yet you clearly claim to be. and have admitted knowing that making such a claim is illegal.
Good job making any case against you airtight.

now, on to the purposeful irradiation of both capsuleer and baseline attendees and staff at the Seyllin conference, such an action is at best, considering the radiation's effect on your own clone, an act of premeditated assault, if not culpable manslaughter or murder.

Your own admission that you believed the risk to be 'acceptable' does not absolve you of the consequences of your actions.

It is your lead place in that project that caused you to risk the health and lives of so many. Thus, you are unsuitable for such a position, your views on acceptable risk and behaviour preclude you from safely holding any position of authority or power within a public environment.

Cloaking indeed works against Drifters, correct?

To be fair, Polevhia, I'm fairly sure Borkstar nominates himself for all of these various positions, and then parades them around. Indeed, even the 'reform' he speaks of flew in the face of his desire for a centralized leadership council, votes, etc. I seem to recall a, "Can it, Borkstar," appearing in chat once or twice.

That said, the reform in question basically boiled down to this: independent teams do whatever work they specialize in, and a central party (Jaret Victorian, at present) makes note of teams, contact points, and specializations, so that information is more readily available. No interventionism, no central control, no mess.
