Those frigates use web only. They don't have a scrambler.

Mission NPCs do not "scram". No matter the indicator you get on your hud, whether the 'disrupt' icon or the 'scrambled' icon, there is no difference other than the icon/indicator itself and the range at which the npc can point you.

It's been tested many times, and any one can test it for themselves:

-Get 'scrambled' by a mission npc, then turn your MWD on (with a player scram, the mwd will not turn on, it will with an npc)
-Get 'Scrambled' by a mission npc, then turn your MJD on (with a player scram, the MJD will not turn on, it will with a mission npc)
-Get 'Scrambled" by one mission npc with one warp core stab fit on you ship and you will still warp away (with a player scram, you will not because it does 2 "points" of disruption to you warp engines)

Mission npc scrams aren't the same thing as player scrams, and again anyone can test this for themselves. Angel Extravaganza has Angel Thugs (scramblers) and is the perfect test bed for this.

Edit: Someone made a video (ignore the commenter who talked about MWDing away lol, if you get 'scramed' the MWD turns off too lol).

With the exception of Burner missions and Drifters (do avoid Drifters), NPCs do not scram. They disrupt, but this means you can still MWD or MJD away (as was pointed out).

Back to the OP... On 'paper' the Rattlesnake looks good, but you really need all the skills fully-trained to get the maximum benefit. A couple of aspects to point out:

• Geckos cannot hit frigates for sh*t without an Omnidirectional Tracking Link scripted for tracking speed.
• NPCs love drones. Either snipe (Sentries) or keep your heavy drones close by.
• Depending on which Faction you run missions for, you're potentially losing 25-50% of applied missile DPS by being limited to Inferno or Scourge ammunition.
• Cruise missiles and torpedoes have horrible damage application on anything smaller than battleships, so you'll need rigors, target painters or both for anything smaller.

25-50% is a bit of an overstatement, every faction's secondary weakness is thermal apart from angels which is kinetic

No, they don't. They only put a point or two on you but no NPC can turn of mwd's or mjd's unless it's Blood Raiders and they neut you out.

Eve Minions is recruiting.

While you CAN fly a T1 Rattler, it does not mean it is a good idea. Get both, Caldari and Gallente BS to 4. Get T2 Cruises, Sentries and Heavies to at least 4 (and then use Faction). Your tank (as you posted it) sounds quite weak, which lets me assume that your shield skills are also not quite up to par. Take the extra couple weeks to train (as listed above). I know (from personal experience) that it is quite tempting to overcome skill point shortage with bling. DO NOT DO THAT.

The Rattlesnake is an AMAZING PvE boat (and not too shabby in PvP either). Take the time to get reasonable skills for it though. There is nothing wrong with flying a couple more L2 or L3 missions until you are ready, or (gasp), do some PvP or Exploration Blink

Yes, I was a bit off on my estimates - it's more like an overall -20% hit against Rogue Drones, Sansha, Blood Raiders and Angels.

I don't enjoy sentry drones, I use mine as more of a brawler fit at the moment.

Also of a note I use my Rattle for some of the epic arcs, but regular level 4's, gila all the way. Gila is a little more drone centric, and a little more nimble.

This is not true.

All guristas pirate ships are so amazing, because they shine at low lvl skills. Here low skills, base Rattle fit:

Low:
3xBCS II
3xDDA II

Middle:
100 MWD II
3xLSE II
3xAIF II

High:
5xArbalest RHML
1xDLA I

Rigs:
3xLCDF Purger II

Cargo:
Gecko
2xCN Warden
2xFN Garde
5xHobgoblin I
Inferno/Scourge heavy missiles.
(n)xMTU

If only lvl1 heavy drones, sentry drones and heavy missiles skills, you can reach 1000 DPS with Gecko, 800 DPS with sentries, 260 DPS “omny” tank, 24 750 HP shield, 116 300 EHP. And this fit costs less than 500 mill ISK. 55km range, 3.44 min all ON, no needs to refit.

Btw, with this fit, at all_around_All5_beloved skill lvl and with some fancy modules, you can reach perhaps above 1600 DPS ganck and above 400 DPS tank.

For the benefit of the noob that I am, i have a few questions:

- all those acronyms...just want to make sure i get it right.

Bcs = ballistic control system
Dda = drone damage amplifier
Lse = large shield extender
Aif = ?
Mwd = microwarpdrive
Dla = drone link augmentator

- why a mwd instead of a mjd? The signature increase of the mwd makes you like a sitting duck no?

- given the Rattle bonus, using only kinetic and thermic missiles is good enough? Even against EM and Exp targets?

Thanks for sharing

1. Aif = Adaptive Invulnerability Field.
2. MWD becouse range. With this fit missile`s range is 54,8km, drone`s 60 km. If you jump 100km away from rats, you have to flay to get at range. And with 113 m/s ..... it is will be pain. Afterburner gives almost nothing - 296 m/s - so MWD for propulsion mod. With ~ 800 m/s and for 4 min 57 sec (if only MWD is ON), you can fly about 350 km before capacitor got empty and it is far enough for every lvl 4 mission.
3. Every kind of rat has sekond hole in the defense, common is termal, kinetic has sansha for example - so yes.

It is a base fit and it is overtanked. When yours skills start up, you can replace some modules. For example:
- One extender for MJD - safety/emergency (I.e. you can use both MJD and MWD/AB).
- Or one extender for Target Painter - to help missiles.
- Or One extender for Stasis Webifier - to help Gecko with elite frigates,

and so on.
