Hello everyone, I am new player of EVE online.
I notice that idea of fist clone was added long time ago and now as default.

You get the implants into your original body early in the training, and actually do simulations and live flying in the last two years. The flatlining-cloning is the final examination test, required for qualifying for the license.

But because of lots of "old" characters and ccp do not want to retcon so the old way still exist.
And I want my character become a pilot in old way.
So how to set my character background to explain the reason he become a pilot in old way? I have some brief ideas but I am interested about what is everyone usually do? Something like to set him becoming a pilot before the method(Though I personally don't prefer to use this one.)?

Just say your guy predates the era of modern capsuleers (e.g. the time since the start of the game, 10-12 years ago) and is one of the earlier half-assed models from before the Jove stepped in and started up the modern age.

As the thread you link probably mentions, there have been empire experiments in jacking implanted people into ships since long before actual capsuleers were a thing, and one assumes a number of them have been retrofit.

You just have to make your guy 30+ years old, which isn't probably a big deal in a game about immortal infomorphs. The main thing you should worry about is you're putting a lot of RP work and thought into something that's out the window the first time you're podded or buy a jump clone.
