Man.

For a super conservative society those Amarr really like to get it on.

As a victory lap, have fun with these (largely meaningless) numbers:

There are 377 temperate planets within the borders of the Minmatar Republic, 573 in the Amarr Empire, 374 in the Gallente Federation, and 319 in the Caldari State. So the breakdown in people per temperate planet is-

Minmatar - 25,572,944,297
Amarr - 52,143,106,457
Gallente - 53,451,871,657
Caldari - 26,680,250,783

I read in the evelopedia that caldari occupy 10% of the cluster population and eve source mentions that there are something like 8trillion cladari so 8trillionx10 80 trillion humans

Amarr - 21.45 Trill
Amarr Slaves - 10.71 Trill
Gallente - 19.99 Trill
Minmatar - 9.64 Trill
Caldari - 8.41 Trill

Jove, Pirate, etc are not listed.

So that's ~70 Trillion conservative estimate in the Empires.

Totally forgot I had Eve Source while writing my post above.. though it seemed to be roughly accurate.

Update: Forgot to add in the Amarr Slaves.

Canonically, capsuleer-founded civilizations have densities in the same ballpark as the empires, so multiply that by five or so to account for all the nullsec quasi-civilizations, call it half a quintillion old-school humans with bodies and ****?

Then technically all the sleepers, while they don't have bodies, are humans too, and there are billions to trillions of those in every sleeper site. So... lots.

The population densities of capsuleer territories are roughly similar to Empire? Really?

Alrighty then, lets roll with that.

I split the populations by Temperate planets because I figured they would have the largest concentrations of human populations. I said the numbers were largely meaningless because I couldn't account for people living in space or other planets (stations, ships, colonies). But, if I stick with the "people per temperate" metric, that would at least give a starting point for figuring out how many actual humans there are in New Eden.

Alrighty, in my number breakdown there is two clear tiers of population density: Minmatar-Caldari levels and Amarr-Gallente levels. So I'll split the total number of temperate planets in half and apply the median number derived from those two groupings. So half the planets in known space (outside of Jove space) will be assumed to have a population of 26,126,597,540 with the other half assumed to have an average population of 52,797,489,057.

There are 2,929 Temperate planets in New Eden outside of Empire space. Half of that number is 1464.5, and I'll just round that down to 1464 for good measure. So, the small half is 38,249,338,798,560 while the large half is 77,295,523,979,448. Add it all together, that would be 115,544,862,778,008 people living out in nullsec. Add in the people living in Empire space, and we get to 185,857,862,778,008 people.

So, excluding anything Jove related, I guesstimate that there are one hundred and eighty five trillion eight hundred and fifty seven billion eight hundred and sixty two million seven hundred and seventy eight thousand and eight actual humans New Eden.

Capsuleers are pretty much the 1% of the 1%

Yet we define the faith of all those 70 trillion people...when CCP gods do not interfere Big smile Some say God is just another programmer from a much bigger world and we all live under his code.

P.S. If true, then black holes may be bugs in the code? P
