Alright. I played for 2 weeks on my trial account, and decided hey, this is a pretty fun game, lets go ahead and drop 15 bucks a month on it.

Big mistake. Since paying my sub, I have been able to play about 5 hours in total thanks to the launcher. The problems first started when my "Play" button was grayed out, making it impossible to play the game. After using Launcher Repair, it had to redownload the update, which took EIGHT HOURS. After finally getting that download to finish, I was able to play for about 5 hours until server reset. When the server came back online, my client refused to connect. So I repaired the launcher again, and have waited ANOTHER 8 hours for the download to finish.

The download got stuck at 89.3%. Upon restarting the launcher, it claimed that the download was in fact, finished. But since EVE won't start, not from launcher, not from BIN folder, I'm assuming I messed something up. And now after repairing, it wants me to download the update AGAIN.

I'm extremely disappointed. A quick glance at the forums here tells me I'm not the only one with this problem, and you at CCP are ignoring the problem and won't even bother to comment. This is the kind of service I expect from a free2play game, not one with a 15$ month subscription.

Ok, I don't know what to do anymore. Your website refuses to download anything for me, it tells me 9 hours remaining to download the Repair Tool after spending 30 minutes to get just 0.4mb. Redownloading the client won't even give me an ETA it'll take so long, and any and all attempts to run EVE from just the .exe in the bin fail as well.

I've reinstalled Windows once, reinstalled EVE about a dozen times, checked my system registry values, disabled the firewall, uninstalled my antivirus, all to no avail. Everywhere else I download anything from works perfectly normal, only EVE and EVE related stuff refuses to work.

EDIT: After talking to a dev via email for a few, everything goes much smoother. I dunno if it was a fluke, or if you guys found the problem, but the most recent launcher use downloaded the patch in about 5 minutes instead of 8 hours. Will edit this post if anything else goes wrong.

While the download finished much faster then before, clicking play did nothing. Upon checking the task manager, eveexe was running at 17% cpu, but after 10 minutes, nothing happened. Ended the process and restarted the launcher, back the good old original grayed out Play button.

This is just silly now. Regretting more and more the 15 bucks I put into this game.

After continually retrying every 10minutes or so on the download page, I've managed to get another spurt of good internet. I am now attempting to attempt using the Full Install method. Download is taking about 17 minutes per .cab file. Will edit this post with the results.

After a full day of playing EVE with no problems, it seems using the Full Installation option has worked for me. For shame it took so much effort to find a solution.
