I have been out of touch with this game for quite a long time now. I am just returning and want to get back into PVP, in particular hunting (to start at least) hunting easy prey in WH space, before scaling it up to viable PVP.

A combination I am happy with, is a Bomber + T3 backup (dualbox).

A purifier seems like the ideal ship to probe / insta tackle then fall back to keep assisting with the DPS while the T3 decloaks and does the brawling.

The T3's I have narrowed down:

HAM Tengu - Flexible, 100mn AB, awesome tank (a lot of experience with this), can also do well vs other pvp fits
Proteus - Best brawler - but has issues with kinetic tanks (Brick drakes)

Could anyone offer any fitting advice? - I can refine the tactics myself

Im also open to flying alongside WH gank / pvp corps so I can offer experience / dps of 2 accounts and learn at the same time. If the corp has a decent name, I would also be up for joining long term!

Look at cloaky stratios instead of a t3, they can be pretty nasty. I'm at work so can't get fits atm

I don't need twitter. I'm already following you.

I'm a fan of the Nemesis as I enjoy its extra mids for Venture killing as well as other likely stabbed targets. Purifier, though it has awesome damage type, lacks the 4 mids for web, prop mod, scram X2 which I find to be handy. So many explorer frigs are stabbed these days. Not sure when you last played, but the presence of PI ships, Ventures and day-tripping explorers means that you have more targets in W-space than drakes and the like flying combat sites and anoms.

I'll second the advice on the Stratios. It's basically what a Pilgrim should be and along with either a Nemesis or Purifier would give you a pretty effective team.

Why not bomber+sabre? Sabre can sigtank just fine if going for them towards the end of the last wave and bridges the trouble of people sitting on a MTU.

Well thanks for all the constructive feedback!

I will look into the Stratios and bomber combo.. seems workable!

Now that recons don't show up on d-scan, they are also an option. Lachesis is great for those stabbed guys.

The stratious is a great ship. It's drawbacks would be the uncloaking delay (which the bomber covers) and that it can't easily fit combat probes.

I like the recons because you can sensor boost the crap out of them and they don't have the uncloaking delay for locking. You can drop an insta locking recon on them. They are squishy though. The more guys in fleet, the more they shine as you add the different flavors/abilities into the mix. You said dual boxer, so I'll say lachesis.

if you have no neut, an active tanked ab comet can **** any bomber + t3 setup solo in my opinion. well... maybe with precision missiles or what... im not familiar with missiles. strais are pretty good, and for dual box, i would use a celestis, or curse or something. i think a curse can curse a day for your opponents xD an oversized ab cald t3 next to it, and you can own 3 t3 pilots in my opinion, until you got neuted...
