Restart Launcher

Now restarted about 30 times, on two machines.

Think I will go outside. I heard a rumour about a big hot shiny thing in the sky...

It's gotten worse. Restarting the launcher several times doesn't work anymore. And it's the same issue for both Tranquility and Singularity.

EVE Offline shows a downward trend of -21% it was only -5% an hour ago.

Looks like a lot of people can't log in...

I've been experiencing the same issues the past few days. After a few client restarts, it seems to start up, .......sometimes. Roll

Wasn't this launcher meant to be to help the new players get into the game quickly?

If so it totally fails at present as it seems to hinder more than help and certainly does not give a good first impression of EVE.

My guess is that in its current state it will deter new players to try EVE more than encourage.

‘No, this isn't it at all. Make it more... psssshhhh’.

Same issue, it connects after restarting launcher.

It isn't just you. A few days ago Yahoo had around 6 hours of failed login for many users. I notice a javascript(0) message whenever pressing a link that fails to connect to/instead of the intended address.

It's likely the DDOS. The launcher refers to multiple sources just to get itself up and running. Some may or may not be critical, but hit enough of them, its dead easy way to screw up logins.
CCP shot their own foot with an anti-KISS and complicated the mitigation. Thank goodness someone there is still sane enough to let the exefile alternate method remain working.

When the launcher fails, TEST these websites in your browser:
http://client.eveonline.com/patches/repair_info.txt
http://client.eveonline.com/patches/win_launcherinfoTQ_inc.txt

If those sites fail, then you know why the launcher failed.

Lets see,

"Feature" added with specific goal.
Totally has unintended consequences/fails
TOTAL silence from ccp for atleast a week.
Then makes excuses/points the blame finger.
If the small chance it does get flipped back/changed back, it will be done "soon tm"

Um i kinda think the newbros are getting a perfect first impression of ccp. Very accurate. And they will know what to expect

Also Thousands of players dont want to use new "feature" want an option to not use it, ccp says no you will use it and love it. Players just use .bin and eve exe and skip new "feature anyway"

Yeah pretty much ccp-par-four-the-course
