I need serious help.

I copied my Eve Online files onto my new computer. Including SharedCache. It works fine on both computers but not with Steam.
If i try to play Eve on Steam it forces me to re-download entire 7gb on BOTH computers now. I cannot get around it. Its like it does not realise that I already have all the files in my SharedCache. This issue only started after Download on Demand was implemented.

Please help me solve this without downloading 14gb. My Internet is slow and there might be a download cap.

I am having the same problem with Steam.

It seems that despite Download on Demand , Steam ignores it's existence and still insist on downloading a certain part of the cache, despite the cache already existing.

Trying to figure out if it is possible to trick Steam into thinking that the cache already exists along with the game files to negate a part of the download, as it is possible with other games downloaded through steam and have been moved to a new location when steam verifies if the game already exists in the Steam Library you have chosen.

No luck yet, though if I figure out a way, I will post it. And I'm going to try and see if I can raise this issue with Steam itself, in hope they alter what they will download and limit it to just the game and launcher.

-Edit-

I assume you are having this problem because your have a Steam linked Eve account?
I recently discovered an option in account management on my steam linked account allowing me to "add a user name" or something similar. The end result, after entering a user name and a password, allowed me to use the account liked an normal eve account and to log onto it through the launcher by entering the chosen user name and password.

Concerning launching the game through Steam, I can't find a way to get it to launch without going through that 7GB download.

steam does it for other games too.
steam says done and then launcher redoes "for the lulz".
