1- Insure your ship. Unless you are somehow 100% sure your ship won't pop, it's a good idea to spend the insurance fee since it let's you replace you ship and fitting or at least give the money back. This is not useful at all on tech 2 and faction ships tho, because the prices and the insurance's fee and payout is totally outdated.

This is a bad idea because I have far too many ships in my hanger that never get flown and most I will just eventually end up selling.

2- Don't Fly what you cannot afford to lose // Whenever you undock, you agree you might not dock in the same ship again. Sad, crude, but true.

This is a bad idea because with great risk comes great reward. Expensive ships are stronger and make you more money.

3- Whenever you go into a wormhole, make sure you have your probes. And I don't mean "let someone else do the scanning", I mean always bring your probes.

This is not really necessary because there will usually be someone around to help you out and anyway you have the wormhole bookmarked. Anyway always having probes discourages good storymaking.

4- Pick up your drones before warping. This one is really easy to forget, ya, really.

This is unnecessary because drones are generally cheap.

5- Don't mix turrets range. It only reduces your DPS and complicates your positioning. It is, however, recommendable to use as many damage types as you can.

It is recommended to have a variety of gun types in order to meet the variety of situations one may encounter.

I think you are doing this whole thing wrong.

1. Don't believe anything anyone tells you about the 'right' way to play.
The ones who aren't trying to mislead you for fun, or profit listened to
someone else who was misleading them.

2. It's no fun without ISK. ISK is your fuel. Screw what people tell you
about fun (see rule one), every ship loss is an ISK loss. There's no
emotional accomodation for losing ISK despite what the greedy ones
tell you. No ISK? No game.

3. This isn't a social game. It's an anti-social game. The friend you
made today will have his hand in your wallet tomorrow. Trust me.
No, really.

4. Speaking of trust....don't.
a.) Fools rush in where angels fear to tread.
b.) A fool and his money are soon parted.
c.) A fool and his money were lucky to get together in the first place.
(Thank you Gordon Gecko.)

5. Never insure a ship. The ISK you pay monthly could buy you a fleet.

6. There is a rule 6. It's the most important rule. It's the rule that could
make...or break you. Sorry. He asked for only five.

There just isn't anything that can be said!

And last rule of these six is don't listen Otso Bakarti cause he is breaking your fun and lead you to lost your isk.
