This is part one of a story series I've been working on and frequently discussing on #Lore. This was done out of an -insane- amount of research, Q/A with ISD and the community, and general feedback from people unfamiliar with Eve Online. The latter being to help identify parts that may not be clear without knowing the universe and better explain them so all readers, no matter how in-depth with the lore, can better understand what is going on. That being said, the story is geared toward players.

The story series will consist of (at least) nine short-story length 'episodes' that coalesce into a full-length novel.

That being said, here is the first part:

Notable Quotes about the story:

"I like it, and I’m interested to see where this goes! :D" ~ CCP Falcon
"Something I know my team mates would love to read." ~ ISD Mal Tyr
"When are you going to finish the second part, I'm tired of waiting." ~ My mom
"Would you quit giving me spoilers? I want to read it for myself." ~ My best friend

NOTE: I am looking for artists to develop art for the story as it progresses. Hit me up via in-game mail if you're interested.

Am amused

Lolwut: "Yes, you kids don't know how lucky you have it. These days noobs get given free tackle ships for PvP but back in the old days the only tackle ships we were given were our pods. We had to use them to bump their rookie ships out of alignment to stop them warping off."

“Nine missed meals are all it takes for total anarchy…”
?? That's only three days...

What's amusing about it?

LOL I guess the hunger. I want more... you promised us at least nine parts, better get to work...
(Wait... is hunger funny? The eternal struggle: I keep getting this mental image of a multi perforated stomach trying to hold in food. Is that wrong?)

Yeah, I'd read it again... Maybe. It left me wanting more.
Why are you asking so many questions?
(Wait... Is that a microphone? Are you recording this?)

Ah.... reference... Never heard of this man before...

Wikipedia says he died of a Gastrointestinal disease.

LOL Pretty ironic. (Was this why you chose to use his quote?)

The story isn't meant to be ironic, amusing, humorous, or anything of the sort... I'm not sure why everyone keeps saying it's "amusing" but if that's what they're getting out of this I might have to go back and revise the entire thing to give a more serious air.

And no, I used a rendition of the quote because it was fitting for what is being led up to.

Ah, Now a bit of context.
Hmmm, you do realize that I was the only one who said it was 'amusing' (unless there were others who said as much in your real life; TrollCat merely stated 'Am Amused', I thought this was amusing as well). You shouldn't get so worked up over someone analysing the creation of your work. I actually liked the story. I believe I implied as such...

I don't necessarily agree with the context of the quote being used for the ending, mainly because the guy at the end of your story was probably 'high' looking to create the anarchy through the use of a well placed explosive to a dropship... Facilitating a revolution for his own end by exploiting a person's pain and suffering. To me it just seems like the man Balris is trying to hard to use your writer's words as a justification for his own selfish actions. The opposite of what Alfred Henry Lewis had intended when he imparted his wisdom. The character strikes me as being a villain in the guise of an anti-hero (Unless this was intentional?)

A tiny suggestion: if you are going to revise the entire thing for a more serious air, might I suggest first missing nine entire meals... It couldn't hurt to actually physically see for yourself what sort of sensations and emotions it takes for anarachy to freely reign over a person. Then put it down in writing.

Did. Actually. Albeit it was in a bout of depression and I simply lost the will to eat for a few days Lol
