Bear with me and let me explain it:

If the answer to the question "Why do you play the game" is "Becaue I like the player-driven economy and like to produce things that I sell for profit on the market", then the answer to the question "Why would I care" would be "Because it will likely impact the market in one way or another and therefore your own gameplay".

So yeah, sometimes raising a counter-question can indeed answer your original question. In this case, your question is "Why would I care?". That is a question no one can answer reasonably, because the only one who knows what you do in this game or what you enjoy is yourself.

So answering the question "Why do you play this game" will help you reflect about your activities, and maybe make a list of them, and then you could easily go and figure which of those might be impacted by those changes.


But you will also need to remember that no one can forsee the future. So the other questions from your first post, like "Will high-sec populaion decrease?", can not be reasonably answered. Yes, it might decrease when the changes are adopted positively by the community and fun and emergent, worthwhile gameplay can be had in sov 0.0. It might even increase, when players are frustrated with it and go back to high sec.

PLEX prices might rise or fall. Time will tell. We can't say yet. So if you are using PLEX, then yes, you might be affected. Should you care about it? Maybe, that depends on wether you want to care or not.
