Heya Octo, thanks for the question.

The active RP aspect, via character development, In Character interaction through forum posts, channels, whilst not mandatory, is encouraged - but the main focus of the RP experience, even for members who don't RP '/emote puts on robe and wizard hat' is adding depth to our EVE experience, giving a sort of a deeper sense and cause for our in game lowsec PVP shenanigans, and a form of identity.

Active RP mentioned above takes up on that and deepens it tenfold, though. Angels are a fun bunch to play and play with. :D
