I say yes to the auto correct as a way of increasing the accessibility to those with physical limitations.
Put me in tha camp that says anything that makes the game client easier to use is good for the game as it increase the potential pool of players. Please note I said "game client" not the game as a whole.

As for not wanting it then just keep typing and ignore it like you would in virtually every other piece of software in existence not to mention your cell phone and tablets.

I see nothing wrong with adding a shortcut to the already existing "auto link" feature on the right click [to a definable] key.

I can't get in game so this may already be possible and exactly what OP is looking for.

I mean....the feature is already THERE....just needs a little joining up.

For example I don't need to type "Dodixie" I can type "Dod" and then select that, right click it, auto complete and pick dixie from a list.

While I support this idea I would like to point out that you can drag and drop item and player names, complete with an auto-link, quite easily at present.

I would like to see this feature and other general improvements to the UI of the chat system and anywhere else people can type in game.

You have to use pen and paper because typewriters just made people lazy. You can't use technology and still complain about laziness. Do you walk everywhere or do you use transport? Do you go to the grocery store or do you farm?

Your completely absurd strawman full of misplaced indignation is noted - and, I might add - thoroughly laughed at.

There is a difference between QoL and laziness, even if you don't want to acknowledge or cannot understand that the boundary exists or where it lies.

Truth to this, but it is likewise absurd to call a player lazy simply because you cannot or will not understand how a requested improvement may improve their QoL.

And yet here in this topic we have those who have called the OP "lazy" even thought they have no idea why this feature was requested beyond what they choose to share here. Making the EvE client more open and accessible to ALL potential players is a goal that all of us should support. We never know how many excellent players may be enticed to join us in this adventure when/if these types of improvements to accessibility were to be implemented. I know that in my own circle of family and friends that are at least 3 that due to limitations are not able to play this game effectively due to issues directly related to the UI.
