I heard this mission is good after you finish the tutorial missions, however it was not offered to me so I was wondering how you pull this mission? Did I miss something?

Also any recommended ships I should train for?

The start mission for the SoE epic isn't offered automatically. Travel to the Arnon system, search in your People and Place window for 'Sister' there is only one agent with that in her name. She is the starting agent.

As for the ship, in the arc you can use any ship. The only two "requirements" is having at least 150 m3 cargo space for one of the missions, and having at least 150 TOTAL DPS at the end of the arc to defeat Dagan's shield repair.

Hope this helps, good luck.

The tutorial missions get offered to you, but once you graduate from them, the mission agents expect you to take the initiative and contact THEM and ask for missions. There should be an Agent Finder icon in the toolbar on the left side of the screen; pick agents from an NPC corporation (for example Caldari Navy) and progress through their ranks as you gain standings. You'll also get loyalty points that you can spend in the corp's LP store (you can see it at any of the Navy stations), cash, and various loot.

As far as the SoE Epic arc, you need to contact an SoE agent named Sister Alitura, and she is located in Arnon. Open the map, search for Arnon, and set destination, then dock at the Sisters of Eve station and talk to Sister Alitura.

The epic arc is not just a mission, it's a series of missions. Most can be done in a frigate or destroyer, although some are a bit harder and may require a cruiser. You can usually ask for help in the local chat in Arnon and people will help you kill the tougher mission targets, but be aware that this is a PVP game and you CAN get attacked instead of helped.

This epic arc will take you all over new eden. It was designed to get new players up to speed on several basic elements of eve while at the same time giving them some isk to get their feet under them. Just letting you know that you don't need to worry about dragging all of your stuff around with you while doing this mission.

Arnon IX - Moon 3 - Sisters of EVE bureau
- Sister Alitura (Epic Arc Agent - Security)

You can start off with the destroyer that you got from your career agents. You will probably want to get into a cruiser for some of the tougher missions in the SOE arc.

- focus your initial training on one medium weapon system - get it to level 5 so you can get the tech 2 version for more DPS. Don't spread yourself too thin in your training initially. Hybrid Rails and hobgoblin II's are good choices these days.

- Loot and salvage the SOE missions as you can usually double your payout.

- You can google for mission reports ahead of time if you want to make it easier.

- You can also ask in local if you need help running the couple of harder missions.

- sell everything you don't need (ships, etc.) as you may not be coming back to the area you're in now. You can sell in the mission center you are in, but you can frequently get more isk if you travel to a nearby trade hub to sell.

It's a good mission arc for newer players. Pays decently, and gives you a standing increase with the SoE.

Depending on what you fly, though, you might need to train some more skills (I managed it in a Thrasher destroyer). I reccommend Catalysts or Thrashers on this arc for their good damage output (even at low skills), though you may want to bring a friend for some of the later missions.

Worthwhile to do this arc. Most of it can and should be done in the dessie you get from tutorials. For the last couple missions, get a cruiser. The time it takes to do the arc allows plenty of time to train towards cruisers.

150 is a bit of an overkill. It's not that high even if you use lasers(Dagan, despite flying a Gnosis, has resist profile of an elite Angel cruiser - EM is the highest, EX the lowest). I remember a factoid that he has exactly 60 DPS tank against explosive damage.

Since OP is Minmatar I assume she'll be flying a Thrasher, so she should have no problems with Dagan even with minimum skills as long as she loads Fusion ammo.

Or, as mentioned in the other thread, get a buddy to help you with Dagan (and maybe Parthus, I guess).

That's a far more normal / sane response to "I can't quite do one mission in a 30-mission chain" than burning all the assets and training time gained during the arc on a new ship type you aren't familiar with, won't necessarily want to fly afterward, and probably will only have patchy skills for.

I think I've killed Dagan more times with random people than I have from actually redoing the arc quests, and I ended up getting help the first two times as well (the second time more because I was too lazy to fly back to where my bigger ships lived than because I couldn't, but still). Basically, I hate that NPC and don't demand any incentive to take a couple minutes to blast him when I'm already in the area.

So... yeah, when you hit that point you may wanna put on your adult-pants for a moment and just ask if anyone's willing to help in Arnon local chat, instead of trying to master an entire new playstyle and putting your net profit down near zero for one mission.

I beat Dagan in a Coercer in (this) 2-3 day old character, simply by training Projectile Turrets to 1(<9 minutes) then fitting a full rack of 200mm Scout ACs with Fusion. No gyro. Tactics used: approach, press F1 when <500m, run repper when out of shields. Had 40 shots left in the mag when he exploded.

I don't think any of this qualifies as "trying to master an entire new playstyle".

I do think that simply running to other players for help when confronted with an obstacle is a) counterinductive to the learning process(which the SoE arc is), b) risky because if you form fleet with another player for him to warp in to you you can lose your ship, and b) the exact opposite of "putting on your adult-pants".

I have killed Dagan many times and I haven't tried explosive on him so I would recommend 150 dps to kill it, but I will try with 60 dps exp damage next time and see what happens, no doubt it will work.

Point a, asking for help can be one of the best things to do in this game, you can learn a lot faster from chatting with someone rather than trial and error or searching every question that you need an answer to.

Point b is a bit of an exaggeration, for one, it's most likely a knew player with a T1 fit T1 ship that is asking for help and not worth looting and not a highlight on anyones killboard.

Concord still applies to fleet members so the likelyhood of losing a ship from asking for help to kill Dagan is the same as undocking in highsec.

coercers use lasers not autocanons, dont train minmatar guns and amarr ships otherwise you are spreading your training the wrong way.

Minmatar >> projectiles
Amarr >> lasers
Caldari >> missiles
Gallente >> hybrids
