Hello peeps,

I got crazy problem but i don't know some stuff about these containers so please feel free to comment and suggest/explain.. thanks.

So i want to buy few of these containers so i can organize my items in station i visit most and where all my ships i don't currently use are there.

What are pros/cons of each type of containers.. let's use Giant Secure Container and Station Container.

You see.. mostly i don't understand this secure-lock system... from whom? Some1 can see your items in those containers in station? Wtf... how that works?
I'm afraid to assemble container before i know how that works.. i want to have more than 6 containers for various occasions. I just don't get that password-lock.. for what is that and does it have something to do with your corp maybe? Cause i'm not having my items in HQ of my corp..
Just please explain me how my containers will be my private stash that no1 can see it.. thanks Attention

GSCs (giant secure containers) are anchorable so that is in reference to them being accessed while in space mostly. Station containers as you guessed can only be used in station and not anchored but some of them still have password capabilities due to the fact that you can use them in the corp hangars which exist in any station that you corp rents an office.

secure containers are for when you will be sharing space with corp mates and don't want them to steal from you.

The different types of containers have to do with whether you can haul them around assembled in certain types of ships (read the info description). The cost of the container is more related to how popular they are than how big they are. Container blueprints can be handy if you have any interest in industry.

Also note that you can use the inventory filter options in the bottom left of the inventory window for sorting through your items.

Yes - if you buy such a Container on the Station and put it in your Hangar, nobody except you can see it.

There is your personal hangar and corp hangars. Your personal hangar exists in any station or player owned outpost that you dock in. Corp hangars exist only in stations or player owned outposts that you corp is currently renting an office in.

If you are talking about your personal hangar then only you can see it but if you are talking about corp hangars then others can see or take from it depending on permissions and settings. Exactly who can see or take from the various corp hangars is a whole different story but it should be enough for you to know that they exist and you can move stuff from your hangar to corp hangars and back, Of course this is all dependent upon you permissions.

So in the example of a container with a password on it, when that container is in your personal hangar only you can see it and have access to it. However if you place that same container in your corp hangar then others can view it and take it. The password and audit log follow the container regardless of who has possession of it.

We could get into a discussion about audit logs and an inability to repackage some containers with log history of less than 3 weeks old but that I think is a diversion from the original post.

You want what is called a "station container"

these have unlimited volume (but limited to 1000 different types of items) and can only exist unpackaged in a station.

I need to add something.

Not sure if this is STILL the case,
but it was so that station containers can not be destroyed.

So ... if you ever have one, remember that.

AND if you ever want to **** off someone with OCD ...
... give him one. ;)

every time you look inside them it triggers a log and you have to have no log entries for 3 weeks before you can repackage a station container. So once you empty one you have to name it something like "repackage" so that you don't look inside of it for 3 weeks if you want to repackage it. Since you can't sell something on the market that is not repackaged this could mess with someone with OCD. Sounds like good fun to me.
