Doing Drone Cluster sites -- No frigate commander!

Hi there im still pretty new and I have been trying out my hand at exploration. I looked up these drone cluster sites and it says they are supposed to have a 'frigate commander' at the last wave, but I never get the last wave. Just curious if im missing something here. Also, when i engage my hobgiblin I's on a 'residential habitation module' it says they are engaging but they never fire. Anybody got any ideas?

overseer is not guarenteed

if your drones dont actually engage then your attacking most likely the LCO version, it will take not damage drones are smarter than to shoot it and waste their time. Thats my guess on it, never done a drone cluster iirc, but should be similar situation to others.

Look for the drone with "Sentinel" in its name. They do not always spawn.

Another voice for the fact that some ships do not spawn in these types of sites.

Your drones may very well be shooting the habitation module but it does not show up, this can happen for several reasons.
1. the specific one you are shooting cannot be damaged by player actions.
2. your drones are doing so little damage relative to the HP of the structure that it is not showing up.
3. failing all of those I will go with your drones are to smart to shoot something they cannot damage - but I doubt this as drones are really stupid.
