Silly you. What is the point of killmail whoring, you ask? Well, there's no point. You gank, you get concorded, and everyone who is around and isn't too lazy tries to get on your mail. It's normal, it's the nature of the sandbox. Who cares how they call themselves?

But, if you come to the forums to shed tears, it means that those killmail whores somehow interrupted your activities. It means that they matter. Thus, you answer your own question:

I know some people that used to be active in the anti ganking community. And as far as I know they did care about stopping gank attempts. I know some people fitted very effective tracking disruptor setups. and some went with jammer ships. (some other went with tornados too to alpha off the ganker ship. (this was just an exsample) also I suppose doing logi is possible to do as well. LolCoolBig smilePirate

Actually I have an algorithm that scans through posts,
does some interesting number crunching and spits
out a percentage chance of who is who's alt,
based on the words they use and other things.

Based on that I only need to type filler words
and the software fills out the rest for me.

Not really. As soon as the logi lands some reps on the gank target, the logi goes suspect and is free to be shot by anybody. Good way to lose a logistics ship without accomplishing anything.

No. Logis only go suspect if the gank target has an active limited engagement which he usually only has if he has accepted a duel from a friendly (or not so friendly) webbing alt/pilot. But even then, logis will only go suspect if their safety is set to yellow or red. If the safety is set to green, the reppers will simply deactivate.

Depending on the composition of the gankfleet and the number of logis, they can have a huge impact. Many freighters were safed that way.

I wish more players made the effort and started shooting -5 players and below. Some may leave it a little late, but that tends to be due to -5 and below not being able to hang around for long. Faction police can be a real pain.

But let's face it, the whole AG campaign is a bit meh most of the time. Because :EFFORT:

It is from where I'm sitting. Which used to be on a gate waiting for some moron to start scanning every ship passing by and then blowing him up. I didn't do it to be an anti-ganker. Whatever that is. I did it for fun and tears.

Tears are tears people! Ganker or carebear, they all taste the same to me.

Anything not breaking the game or its rules is allowed. What's the deal with posts like this one exactly?

You do what you enjoy, they will do what they enjoy. The game is a sandbox. You interact with other players.
It's a ruthless , chaotic PvP game you are playing. People like to shoot you in the face. Man up and enjoy it.

what's the reason for ganking miners? it surely isn't the loot. it's the "tears".

your 4 page thread here shows that the "anti-gankers" had a full success because you are bothered with them :P maybe ganker tears?

Reasons for 'whoring' besides actually stopping the gank:

  1. Logs - Kill reports contain lots of useful info and poking the ganker increases the chance of both getting the ingame kill report and having it show up on killboards - very useful for great tools like GankerLookout.com. Also gankers killed solely by gate guns haven't been showing up like concord kills has (this might change soon).
  2. Bounties - Poking battlecruisers often pays out bounties in the millions, so if you have hostile modules and someone turns criminal, spending 5 sec to poke them is quick ISK even if it is just 1 mill.

I'm also going to argue that 90% of my current 'kills' on any of my characters conveys a real chance of actually stopping a gank. I particularly like the ones done with my unusual ECM Nemesis, I might have stopped 10 ganks with it and I don't recall ever failing to stop a sologank, even successfully jamming a catalyst with ECCM twice.
