Smartbombing incursion fleets: how would you do it?

How would you go about with that?

The math works out: bring about 50 battleships, get 1 cycle on your smartbombs and that should do enough damage to kill an incursion battleship with their standard fits.

With concord response time you could even get 2 cycles in.

In pratice: smartbombs don't activate.

Would you like need to mail ccp and ask them to reinforce the system just like for big null-sec battles?

You wouldn't. 1) you have to hope you land on the majority of the fleet when you warp into the site, and 2) the minimum EHP on an incursion ship will be close 100k. No way you can do that much damage before Concord shows. Your best bet would probably be using ECM to disrupt their logi, possibly a Scorpion with an ECM Burst fitted; and hope the Sansha rats do the work for you.

50 BS would do 100k damage in 1 cycle.........problem now seems to be getting that cycles off.

It's hard to tell where/when the lag is occurring but here are some purely theoretical thoughts:

If the lag is mostly client side, turning off all the brackets might help. Changing all the graphics settings to low may also help.

Depending on how the CONCORD spawning mechanics are coded, it may create less lag if you pre-spawn the 50 sets of CONCORD elsewhere in the system so the "generate spawn" procedure is already complete. One would think it takes less code to move a spawn than to generate one.

Your assuming they will be sitting on the warp-in. They won't be. All that will happen is you will warp in, a few of your BS will get scrammed by the Sansha rats and then die.

Only way it will work is if you catch them on the gate before they go into a site, but if they are on their game they won't be there long.

Seriously, 50 Blackbirds would work better and be more cost effective.

Even easier.... gank their logistics ship(s).

Continually bump / sacrifice tackle frigates to keep care bear battleships on grid long enough for the incursion rats to tear them up.

Loot everything then profit!

Incursion rats use warp disrupt already. No need to sacrifice tackle frigates.

I have, and we all know how the Mach smartbombing op went. Fail.

His point is, if you watched the video you would know the smartbombers were already setup at the warp in waiting for the incursion fleet.

I initially assumed his question was on how to do this. Apparently he already knew and just wanted to trollololaa onto the fail Incursion SB gank attempt. Which would have worked except for server lag.

Now, what I really don't get is that how people did not know about the server lag issue before hand? Doesn't anyone watch Rooks and Kings videos? RnK vids show them having lag when pipebombing with 30 BS, in nullsec systems. So it stands to reason that the lag would have been even greater in a hisec system.
