Dust 514 / Eve Online Joint FW Event

Over on Dust 514 the guys are getting some pretty hefty rewards for playing Faction Warfare between April 9th and April 16th.

That being said there's a multi-game, multi-twitch stream broadcast going on for the Gallente Federation, but there's probably going to be more support for it across the board if Eve players show interest.

So here's how you can help:

-Pick a Faction
- See if there's a twitch stream or join one of the joint Dust 514 / Eve Online in-game channels.
- Find out where they're going to be fighting (infantry doesn't know until they're being deployed so it's difficult).
- Go there
- Drop orbitals on the planet for sweet LP rewards (think it's like 1000 per successful orbital and you get killmails)
- Kill people trying to drop orbitals for sweet LP rewards

How it works:

Whenever a Dust 514 battle goes live, it will -ALWAYS- be on a Temperate Planet in a FW Low-sec system. There are a number of districts on each planet so you'll need to know which one to go too.

Once you know, you warp to the district beacon directly. When you do that the beacon will be displayed for the entire system (this means that anyone hunting you will have a warp-in point on you). You'll have to stay close to the beacon to drop orbitals as there is a timer that ticks down, allowing you to fire every THREE MINUTES. When you hit, you'll get a display of what you killed as well as killmails.

To do this however, there are a few considerations:

1) Skill and damage multiplier do not matter.
- Think about it dude, you're shooting interstellar weaponry at a -person-, they're going to die even if it's coming from a brand new character with T1 guns.

2) Turret SIZE DOES MATTER.
- Only small guns can use the orbital ammunition. You will also need this orbital ammunition if you want to shoot people on the ground. Note that it -does not- work on other ships, so be sure to switch accordingly.

3) Turret AMOUNT DOES MATTER.
- The amount of rounds that go down range are determined by how many guns you have in the weapon group. More guns = more rounds down range = more happy (or sad) Dusters.

4) Turret TYPE DOES MATTER.
- The type of turret matters in the following ways:
---> Hybrid: Large blast radius, takes forever to hit the ground.
---> Laser: Tight blast radius, hits almost instantly (we love this).
---> Projectile: MASSIVE blast radius but does no physical damage, destroys shields and equipment (circumstantial).

as long as sentient beings exist,

until then, may I too remain

and dispel the miseries of the world."
