Plex for VideoCard Sells out in 64 seconds


Since selling all 100 cards in 64 seconds is a profound success, why has this sort of event not been repeated?
I think CCP should take advantage of their relationship with NVIDIA and make this a regular thing.

The demand certainly exists as does the supply, what is CCP waiting for?

I support this as it will improve the graphics for the NULLocalypse event...cannot ever be a bad thing Twisted

In a more serious note it might not be ccp but Nvidia that has issue...legalities to meet or they might not even exist at this point in time Smile

There was, and still is apparently, a thread about PLEX for VR HDM. See: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=414380&find=unread

Without rereading it, think the conclusion they reached at some point was that it is essentially RMT. You have big alliances with lots of in-game dosh, and thus currency to purchase PLEX in-game, and also people who speculate on PLEX prices and have tons of those things piled up in 4-4. You have lots of PLEX -> you exchange that PLEX for GPU's or VR HDM's -> put those things up for sale in Ebay -> many $$$.

I guess you could put some sort of limitation in place, say one GPU per one account, but people have alts and can always recreate new accounts and alliances can rig it just like they rig elections.

I'd say no.

It's no more RMT that eve news sites selling PLEX for money.
Which is allowed by CCP.
