I'm looking for a weapon not a person.

Some people are weapons, Mr Ephesianos.

Good luck sir.

Unless the plan is to gift it to somebody you really hate. Somebody who also has a taste for antiques and the occult.

But don't you think that for the time you would own the cursed object, the curse would affect you and might strike back even after you gift the object?

Drones. Drones exist for a reason. As well as containment field technology.

A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.

Um. Most stories about spooky stuff have ordinary, but clever, methods of working around them failing. Usually if you want to keep spooky stuff contained you're supposed to resort to spooky stuff yourself.

... Or try crazy spooky stuff/science crossbreeds ... which, given the amount of Ancient technology running around that we still don't fully understand, I guess we're well supplied for.

I seem to remember those are sort of hit-or-miss, though, depending on what genre you're living in.

I own said lance. I will not part with it.

A little trust goes a long way. The less you use, the further you'll go.

If I were light years away from the artifact and have drones pick up the stuff and pack the stuff and deliver it for me the curse won't give a shite.

Do curses even affect drones?

No, but gremlins do, and curses affect gremlins.

And that's a bad thing how?

::Ottom pondered over the myriad of artifacts he had collected over the past couple of days. From pole arms to spears, lances to lightening rods the space captain had traveled the verse looking for Lancelot and come up with more than a fair share of replicates, variants, and maybes::

“None of them?” Chauncy his gunnery sergeant asked.

“I have an affinity to the spiritual nature of the artifact. I will know when I have the one in tow of which we seek.” Ottom explained. “Henry.”

00Yes captain.00 The not so artificial intelligence perked up on the intercom system.

Moments later.

::Incoming Pirate Radio Transmission::

Capsuleers and cosmonauts!

It appears that what we are looking for in the weapon known as Lancelot is not a … spear, javelin, lightening rod, or pole.

It is a scepter.

Thank you for your patience while I figured this out.

So if anyone has any old scepters lying about please let me know as soon as possible. Especially if it contains any odd properties about it. Odd spiritual, mystical properties.

Ottom out.

“Amarr freedom fighters?” Ottom asked dubiously.

“Masters.” Jack Grayson explained.

“Giving away torches.” Ottom said blandly.

“Lightsticks.” Jack corrected the captain.

“With scepters that shed light otherwise known as Lightsticks.” Ottom said.

“It is a bit smaller than a scepter, except for a few who used double sided Lightsticks and these when turned off would be about the size and length of a scepter.” Jack told Ottom.

“A weapon of that caliber would make for a very light saber. That doesn’t sound like a Lancelot though.” Ottom explained.

“The theory is that the edge never dulls no matter how many times you cut with it. It can also be activated at close range, lancing out at the target or in these cases slaver hounds.” Jack said.

Fellow pilots.

The search for the cursed Lancelot continues. These are the clues I have, we have, come up with from the myriad of lore generated by the multitudes that grace our space.

As it is known, Lancelot is not a lance but a scepter.

The scepter uses the same technology as the sword known as Excalibur but it is more refined. A new version of the same technology.

By emanating a blade of light the lasers fine edge never dulls and is also retractable. Thus the name Lancelot.
This same type of weapon is now used as a scalpel in most hospitals however the oldest of its kind would be the size of a scepter.

The blade of sorts was used by Minmatar warriors escaping slaver compounds. When activated Lancelot sheds a blade of cutting light. This relic of the past contains gadgetry that might be outdated to us but is relevant to the search for my ancestral home world.

Please search your closets for this outdated cutting edge weapon and/or medical invention.

My questions that I need answered to benefit the continued search are:

Is there anyone who knows the inventor of the handheld surgical laser scalpel and how was it developed?
Is there a medical museum I could go to that has a surgical tool display I might be able to browse?
