I posted this in the relevant thread but I see that a lot of people are just adding to the end of the thread and are missing this approach.

I found that using the eve client in windowed mode prevents the random disappearance of windows or them flashing up and disappearing if you click on items in space. I have been doing this for a couple of days now and the problem - which was making eve unplayable - has stopped happening.

I have an XP operating system

Good luck

Have same problem on different PCs with XP SP3 in different countries.
Drivers, direct x, cache whatever else resetting, reinstalling, remaking... whatever..is checked and found useless

HERE IS TEMPORAL SOLUTION UNTILL FIXED BY CCP.

Close all active clients.
Launch client, set fixed window mode.
Close client.

Once you launch client or two or three or four.... just check it out before logging in - if FIXED WINDOW MODE is set.
If set than enjoy game. If not than see tex above.

Everything works fine atm.

Known @problems@ - playing 3 or more windows you may switch by simple alt-tab only between TWO clients.
Third, fourth or whatever you've got should be selected by alt-tab and alt holding than.

Thanx to CCP for the good work at game creation and to mom and dad for
good work of my creation, Also thanx to Lord too for blessing them both.

Will have to try this next time i need to see my desktop at the same time as i play,
since window mode makes playing imposible for me.
Containers seem to be the biggest problem and triggar for making the ui disapear on my part.

The problem is very uncomon when in fullscreen on my part, thank god for that.

But i got other bugs to compensate for that.
