Hello all,
So I'm an awful eve player where I've played on and off since 2004 and I have finally decided to make a stand and play this game properly. However I have no idea what's good these days for pvp or pve... Back in the day I went full gallante and hybrids only to really regret that decision, switched over and did some drone stuff but that's where I left off. People were also telling me that mimnatar was the way to go and all else was a lie so I put some points in mim ships.

so here's my sheet, it's quite terrible http://eveboard.com/pilot/Azmodelli_Leetrano

Please help me figure out what direction to go in? Should I continue to spec in Mimnatar, if so what guns or components do I need? Are gallante ships viable at all?

Just any help at this point would be great, there seems to be a whole bunch of new stuff added to the game I'm not aware of.

You're in luck!
The day of the Minmatar is over and Gallente ships, guns, and drones have gotten some love in recent years.
Not that Minmatar is *bad* now. CCP has worked on balancing the ship lines, so that all can have a purpose.

Small ship combat has also evolved, and there is LOTS of it. So you wont be losing tons of ISK while you find your way.

Find a corp you like and go from there. Fly what they recommend and your skills will fall into place soon enough.
Experience is what a pilot really needs.
Get out there! Kill a few, lose a few.
Have fun, welcome back.
