I can see from a lazy perspective/broke out of your ass, it would work. But that would take you a long time too. Combat rolling is a thing. Not to mention, "harder to catch" sounds like you haven't fitted a higgs rig. Literally all speed to double digits.

You can destroy the rig in space to regain your full speed. It's only ~1 mil isk.
